    No, that's not right. On1 may support Gopro RAW format, but will also support any jpg. They're all the same. Have you tried it?

    According to this page:

    https://on1help.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/115000293571

    "Please note, the automatic lens detection correction will only be applied to raw files shot with the lenses listed below. Lens correction will not be detected or applied to .DNG, TIFFs, JPEGs or PNGs."

    When I try to select the model of the camera from the dropdown, nothing happens so the above note is accurate.

    And thank you for the reply! I don't mean to sound snarky.

    Kevin,

    You don't need to apply lens correction to straighten the just go into Effects and use the crop tool or use the level tool in the transform section of develop.

    Thanks, David! I had no idea the level tool was there.

    It seems to work the same as the Straighten tool in photoshop. It takes a few swipes to really remove the fisheye. I was just hoping for a more accurate and time-saving solution, but this is still great.

    Thanks again!

    Kevin, you keep saying 'straighten' but then you talk about fisheye which would be lens correction so I don't know if you're in the proper area or not. You should be able to do some fisheye corrections in the Lens correction area in Develop. Using jpg it won't be automatic, but you can do it manually. Once done, save a preset for next time.

    A description of Lens correction is on page 78 of the User Guide.

    Hi, Rick--

    I'm very sorry for the confusion. I am trying to correct the *fisheye* from my GoPro. I've tried the lens correction in Develop but it's not helping nearly enough. I just don't understand why I can't use an automatic lens profile on JPGs.

    No matter, I've been using photoshop's Adaptive Wide Angle tool. That works much better than the level tool because I can apply multiple strokes to an image and identify vertical and horizontal strokes with some fine tuning. It's agonizingly slow, but I get good results.

    What kills me is GoPro's own software doesn't have tools for this.

    @Kevin - the automatic lens date is embedded into the raw file (but not the jpg). Along with many other data points, but that's an entirely different discussion. This is the nature of "jpg v raw" in a basic sense.

    You might want to try the manual drop down under lens correction. You can try and fiddle with that a little bit.

    Hi, J--

    I'm not able to use the dropdowns to select the camera and lens. Clicking the Model box doesn't open it or give me any options, unfortunately.

    I understand raw files contain more data and just wondering why I can't manually select the model and lens.

    Thank you for the reply!

    Let me throw this out there, even though it is not gopro related...

    ON1 PR 2019 (and 2018 as well) would occasionally ignore the metadata in my Nikon NEF raw files when I loaded the files into a catalog directory. It happens at least 50% of the time. The BIG clue for me is when I go into lens correction and try to auto adjust. It grays out the auto adjust and the metadata in Browse does NOT show me the lens.

    I submitted this back in 2018 and got a "well, that is easily solved" and "we have other fish to fry" response.

    The solution is to go back into Browse, select all the files (because if one is not right, they all are not right) and click on the main menu item:

    Photo->Read Metadata from Photo

    @Kevin

    Thanks for the tips, but it's still not allowing me to open the lens dropdowns. In fact, I've got hundreds of Nikon NEF files and while I can open the dropdowns for them, the Auto button never works.

    Digging deeper, the Info box in Browse shows me the Makes of both cameras (GoPro and Nikon) but no lens info for either one. Even after I ask to read the metadata.

    Kevin Frey,

    Somewhere in the back of my mind, I remember having another issue with the metadata not showing me the lens data. The problem was isolated to an .xml file that was created (not knowingly) when I imported the .NEF files from my camera into the ON1 catalog. I was using a 3rd party package to import from the camera to the catalog. And I added some metadata fields during the import. The 3rd party software created an .xml file and put it with the NEF file. ON1 did not understand the .xml file and just left it alone. But that caused ON1 problems when it came to the lens data.

    So as far as the NEF files not letting you do an auto... Pick one .NEF file and delete it's .XML file and then do the read metadata from photo in ON1 again. ON1 will recreate the .XML file if it does not see one.

    In my case, I had to turn off the things in the 3rd party import software that caused it to create .xml files.

    @Kevin Frey - just created a support ticket to have one of our techs dive a little deeper into this with you.

    You should see a response soon.

    @Kevin Pinkerton - That is good stuff to know. I will pass that along to the engineer as well. Sounds like there might be some correlation there.

    @J Thank you.

    Support reached out and said confirmed they don't support GoPro's RAW format.  They only GoPros listed for support are the models 3 and 4, as I recall. I was shooting with a 6 and 7.

    They've also said they've received requests for supporting newer versions, but there's no timeline for that support.
