    Darryl,

You will still be able to the Develop 2019 and Effects 2019 plug-ins. These features are still available inside of ON1 Photo RAW 2019.

There are two primary ways to use ON1 Photo RAW 2019 with Lightroom, via the Plug-In Extras command in the File menu and the Edit In command in the Photo menu.

Accessing ON1 Photo RAW 2019 from the File > Plug-in Extras menu is the preferred way to access the app. It gives you access to all installed modules (except Browse) and has the most flexibility in how the files are handled. To edit an image in ON1 Photo RAW 2019, select the image in Lightroom, go the File menu and select the Plug-In Extras submenu, and choose the place you would like to start. What happens depends upon your selection:

    • If you choose Effects, Develop, or Portrait, ON1 Photo RAW will open in that tab within the Edit module, but you can move between the other tabs during your editing session. You can also create layers during this process, but they will be flattened when you return to Lightroom.

    • If you choose Resize, you can only work in that module

First, thanks for the thorough answer. The day after I posted this, I began to get the normal behavior when I did a right-click, Edit In, so that's good.

Until a post elsewhere that also said that File>Plug-in Extras was the preferred way, I had never used or even noticed that menu option after many years in LR. I'm confused as to the flexibility mentioned, however. With the right-click option, I can edit with LR adjustments, edit a copy or edit original. I don't see any of that with the File menu option and I use all three of those depending on what I am doing.

Outside of that, the behavior appears to be identical, so I don't understand why ON1 makes that the preferred way.
