Is there a more active ON1 forum anywhere?
Whatever software I'm using, I usually spend some down time perusing user forums. They range from informative to entertaining. I have found that coming here is almost useless. One post today, one yesterday, a few in the last week. Where else do you guys hang out? I watch the DPReview forums, which are pretty good, but wondering if there is a group of forum elsewhere that people use to discuss ON1.

Darryl...
This is the support forum and since it gets very little feedback from ON1... it is not used. There is a ON1 general forum found at
https://www.on1.com/plus/forums/ but I think you must be a plus member to post to this forum. You can however read it.

You're already in both public forums. The only other one is the On1 Plus forum, but it's slower than this one is.

Ok thanks. So how is Plus? I've looked it over a few times and haven't seen enough benefit. Looking through the training videos, there are some I would watch, but between the free ones here and others on Youtube, there is a massive amount of training available. I haven't quite decided to go all-in with ON1 yet, but if I do, I'll take a more serious look at Plus.

Some of the courses in Plus are pretty good. The one Henry just did 'Shoot to Print' taught me a few things, but there are plenty of free videos if you're on a budget and with these 2 public groups you can ask pretty much anything and usually get an answer.
The Plus group gets you a few bonuses if you want to spend the money, but it's not necessary.

Plus offers three advantages which is why I belong. 1) Major updates are included. 2) Quality training.... and 3) you have direct access to professional photographers for those questions you have not figured out. I like the product and it keeps getting better. What I do not like about ON1 is having to debug final released software. Since version 10... I have not had one release which comes bug free.

Darryl,
Looks like your post was removed from the FB page ... I guess that question was not allowed either!
Basically the question comes down to which software works for an individual. RAW 2017 was a disaster for me and I tried to move on but found all the other programs I tested kind of fell short vs ON1 for my uses. I am not cataloging so that feature is turned off but would like to use it if/when it gets better. I reluctantly upgraded from RAW 2018 because it was working so well for me. I like it's ease of use and how simple it is to just edit a photo but I did find another software program very similar to ON1 but it wasn't as feature rich IMO, I like the blending and the ability to apply or not apply things to a photo; the other software fell short.
Unfortunately there is no guarantee that when an update comes out it'll be bug free, I think it took ON1 about 1 1/2 years (to RAW 2018.5 or .6) to get a lot of the bugs out of that platform.1 -
Just to clarify Donalds post. It's On1 Plus Pro that gets free major updates, not On1 Plus.

Yes I do have pro... you can see the differences at https://www.on1.com/products/plus/

Interesting they don't post much here, but if you ask a support question on the ON1 Facebook page it gets deleted.

Darryl,
The FB page is strictly for showing how well RAW works on photos, kind of what I call the Stepfird Wives page. I don't think that ON1 staff looks at these posts here at all but I'm surprised they don't.

The ON1 Photo Community on Facebook is for sharing photos, not for support requests. ON1 Technical Support looks at the forums, so if you have a technical support issue, submitting a ticket is the quickest option for getting the proper information that you need.

Kahlie,
we are happy to realize that ON1 technical support looks al the forum, I can image they are fully aware about the disappointment many users have due to the lack of performance (even with state-of-the art PC configuratios), unresolved bugs and sometime very approssimative replys to questions risen through an official ticket request.
Said that, can you anticipate if the ON team is going to resolve must of the issues highlighted in this forum and when it will be ready an updated and more performing release ? (As noted within the several discussions in the forum, the ON1community is really interessed in solving existing issues rather then in new marketing annoucement)

It is funny that performance has never been a problem for me even on an 8 year old PC like this:
- Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2720QM CPU @ 2.20GHz (8 CPUs), ~2.2GHz 8GB
- SSD 500GB
- NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M 1GB
But I don't use any bloat-ware such as multiple AVs, Uninstallers, Registry Cleaners etc., etc.0
