We need a polygon selction tool I wish On1Raw would get the basics right firsth before trying to fancy things that noone uses much. The polygon tool is VERY useful when touch up / brushing parts of image to clean lines overflowing the other tools in Raw do not work !!

200 votes is a joke you know the program needs a selection tool it should have been created at the start . If you really want to compete with the likes of Photoshop etc you need these basic tools availalbe.

No. On1 has the Perfect brush and the AI quick mask.

A description of the masking brush group starts on page 61 of the 2019.2 user guide.

Thanks RIck. I'm working on a real estate photo that has a bunch of windows and the Perfect Brush isn't doing a good job at differentiating between the grey outside and the similar colored grey window cill. I don't believe the AI quick mask would work since I'm looking to locally adjust the tone/color of the outside and not mask something in.

Any suggestions on how to make the Perfect Brush more "Perfect" ?

    Thank you. Morgan

Well, you can adjust the sensitivity in the perfect brush options but that's about it. You can make straight lines if you click on one end and shift click the other. It might help with windows.

The AI mask works with local adjustments too. Doesn't hurt to try it.

John, if you want a feature added, you can see if it's already been suggested and if not, add it to the Ideas page to be voted on.

John, An idea needs to be rated 200 times and be at least 3 stars before they review it

This info is available from the top of the Ideas page if you mouse over "On1 will review it"

John - We are just other users in this forum not On1 employees. I simply told you how On1 does things.

john shaw John, the ON1 Photo Raw is different type of image editor that uses masking tools for local adjustment, not selections. It is competitor to Adobe Lightroom, not the Photoshop.

Many of the tools in On1Raw eg Crop,Clone stamp,Paint brush etc similer to PS. Its rubbish to say On1Raw is not a competitor to PS they are aspiring in many ways as a one stop editing tool . Therefore they need a POLYGON SELECTION TOOL it very important when ediding images and you need a perfect clone or removal of object etc Its stupid to have to go into PS just becasue On1Raw hasnt got that tool. If On1Raw really want to be the one stop editing suite and the best in the market place then they need that tool. On1Raw is much more than a  image organization tool like Lightroom.

I agree so much; even if I never found a "one stop editing tool" + organize + catalogs + DAM + maps etc.

Unfortunatly each program has its mess (Affinity, DxO, C1, LR, PS, Luminar, Explore, RAW Power... I think I've tested each one) and at this moment ON1 is the more "swiss knife"; waiting for further improvements and capabilities, it may be quite long to get it n°1 and trash the other ones we must use for some purposes (selection tool "lasso", complete maps, greyscale profiles etc etc).

THANKS Subias. I hope others like us tell On1Raw how they can make the program better and be the number one 'go to' Editing program.

As has been noted above, the way for users to tell the company what they want is by voting for the ideas they like on the ON1 Photo RAW Project page.

Can you imagine the requests getting 5 stars rating already posted on the ON1 project page since some years have not been improved in the recent releases  (Maps, greyscale, selection tools and many others....

It's just like talking to a wall, you can suggest anything, ON1 team do want they want to do, project page is just for let believe they listen to you !

It isn't just the star rating, it is the number of people who vote for it as well. If I add something and you vote 5 stars for it, it has a 5 star rating but only 1 vote. That won't get implemented. That does not mean the company has ignored anyone.

Apparently there aren't enough other users wanting this particular feature for the company to consider it. Or, they have been busy with what they are doing and will back to the Project Page suggestions after all the already announced upcoming work has been finished.

Good point Subias its a bit disturbing if On1Raw wont listen to their users !! Im a pro photographer and have contacts all over the world and I do a lot work on editing images but I need a 'one stop' tool.

As to what Brian Lawson said On1Raw must agree that my suggestion it a good one, a Selection Tool is a must when editing a difficult image or copied part of a image etc there are so many uses.

If On1Raw wants to attract the pro photographers of the world to temp them to switch to PS and other softwar it has to be a function so a Selection Tool is a must not all the pretty stuff thats not very useful - The basics need to the there first - look at the pallet of PS then On1Raw would be a world beater I hope the mangement listen !!
