Can workspace colors be changed?
Hello,
Can the workspace colors be changed from solid black to something like dark or medium gray?
Thank you,
Mike,

Yes, go to Preferences > General > Preview Background Color.

Thanks Brian.
I tried that, but it only applies to the background of the preview image. I am looking for the posibility of changing the entire interface to a lighter color, sort of like a skin in other programs. I do not think that can be done. It seems the darker color is a trend with a lot of software. I can see the benefit of the black interface for viewing images, it's just not my taste.

I have the same problem - I want to change the whole background to a lighter colour and have black text and tools etc. This black background and white font may be a "young" thing. If I'm in a hurry, I revert to an old computer and Photoshop and edit photos there much more easily simply because it is more readable.. Surely there should be a preference or option setting to change background and text?

Changing workspace color is a necessity, as I work in various environments, and at times it is VERY difficult to see the options available - so guess what - I leave ON1 and use another program!!
Not wanting to do this ends up with my worktime expanded because I can't find a way to change this 'feature'.

Agreed. White/Grey on a black background is so 1980s DOS. I couldn't wait then for black letters on white background. Hint: take a look at printed books/E-readers etc..

This is an important issue.
The black background is not readable for some/many? people. Should urgently be expanded like in Photoshop. Thank you.0 -
I agree! I can't read the screen when it's white on black. It seems to me that an earlier version allowed you to make it black on white. If not, I simply can't use the software because I can't read the screen. It's bad enough that the print is so small... Thank you for considering creating this option!

These are all the options we have for controlling the colors used by the program. The color of the text is not one we can change.
On the Mac we have the option of setting the system to Dark Mode (which I use so you see it in my screenshots) and the program does respect that setting.
Here is what Photo RAW's Preferences panel looks like with Dark Mode turned off.

Mary, when you say, "Thank you for considering creating this option!", please be aware that this is a user forum and On1 staff rarely see these posts.
Brian, that's interesting in Windows 11 the Preferences dialog does not honor the system Dark Mode.
That said I cannot imagine trying to edit a photo with white panel on either side I can see where it would be a nice option to change color of panels and text though for people that want it.

I realized after posting my message that it is a user forum only, so I did contact the Help Desk. And the colour issue is one that they are considering for future options....
