Problem with Wacom tablet
Am I alone here?
In the Wacom settings there is an option to use Windows ink. If I check this option I cannot select anything; clicking has no effect. If I uncheck this option I can click and select images, but pressure sensitivity has gone. In order to work I have to select an image and filter with the mouse and then I can apply the effect with the pen! No problem with 2019.2. I have opened a ticket.

Venting here will possibly make all of us feel better...some. Please, if you have not opened a trouble ticket, do so. I know that I still have an open problem report on file, if everyone that is having the problem also opens one, then it will get more attention. The ON1 team can not see the level of a problem if they are not reported.
It is good to add comments here, but the official notification is always the problem report, the more reports, the higher the priority the problem will get.
I had not seen anything on this in so long myself, I was beginning to think I was the only one that had the problem anymore.
Thank you for your comments here, it is good to keep commenting as well, somewhere there is a solution, and the more information that is provided the more they are likely to be able to find a solution..with our help.
Thanks everyone,
Wayne

Fraser, there is a bug and I would report your problem to ON1. The more, the faster it gets fixed. Look up above and read about the Windows Ink check box enabled. You get either a tablet that functions like a mouse, or a tablet that cannot do anything except pressure sensitive things. From what you are saying, I would say you have Windows Ink unchecked.

Everyone who has Wacom or other tablet version problems like this thread should write and submit a ticket to ON1. I believe they are working the problem, but you never know for sure. Hit them as many times as we can with these problems. You can submit a ticket via the "Submit a request" blue bottom on the top of this page, or you can do it from inside ON1 via the Help/Provide Feedback

Thanks Rafael. I would suggest that you open a service ticket/ support request to add your name to the large number of folks who want this resolved. Their (ON1) comments were such that checking the "Windows Ink" box seemed to have fixed it for some people. In my mind, this is a huge bug and they should release a fix ASAP for it. Loosing the tablet's main functionality especially when the tablet is such a large part of the whole editing process is bad. And to let it just hang out there like they are does not help their case any. We all know that they are working really hard to add new functions and features.

Yes, still a problem.

I was a QT programmer before I retired and all of your points are valid David. However, when you develop code using QT, you get the source code for all of the QT functions and libraries. And if you have a problem with a function, you can take their source code and fix it or replace it. I had to do that a couple of times.
I hold ON1 fully responsible for the Wacom tablet working or not working and in my mind, the Wacom tablet is such a key, integral part of photo editing, they should have never released a version of ON1 that did not have a fully working Wacom interface.
Just saying :)

I'm happy to report that the new 2020 version works well with my old Wacom and Windows 10! Problem fixed in my case.
Thanks!1 -
I have tried everything in this thread to fix the laggy Wacom brush problem. It only happens with local adjustment brushes. Cloning, erasing, touch up in the develop module, it works find.
Windows 10 fully up to date. Wacom drivers up to date. I know it isn't the computer, because I don't have this lagging issue with any other editing program, just On1PhotoRaw20xx. It's really frustrating that I have to save a partially editing image, and finish it in a different editor.

Yes I agree, I also opened a ticket.

I have found no pressure sensitivity capability with the download and install of 2019.5. as far as my WACOM tablet is concerned. The pen acts just as if I were using my mouse. I have checked all items, in that I mean setting in WACOM utility and tablet properties as well as the two in ON1 software, all are set as they have been for 2019.2
I have also turned in a ticket.

Same here. No pressure sensitivity in the latest 2019.5
I turned in a ticket as well.

Similar issues with an XP-Pen tablet.
Windows Ink on: Pen pressure, No selection
Windows Ink off: No pen pressure, selection available

I got an email from tech support on my ticket. Basically telling me to uncheck Windows Ink in the wacom manager. I sent a followup back basically repeating what Paul Hoekstra says above. And that it basically gives me 1/2 of the functionality of my tablet from what it was in 2019.2 and 2018. They got back and said they added my note to their open bug ticket. I sent a reply back and gave them this thread and told them what Paul has said about it affecting the XP-Pen tablet as well. That should help them a lot at narrowing down the issue.

Exactly the same problem with the 2019.5 trial. Its either selection or pressure sensitivity but not both. I went back to an earlier version to try and worked perfectly. so at least i know its not my system. But no solution either yet. I missed a few versions because of instability in an earlier version.Seems like i might be waiting a while longer.

Thanks for your reply I have now unchecked Windows Paint and have a pen I can use to move sliders, paint, but no pressure sensitive things so it is like a Mouse. Hope you can get the problem sorted. THANKS.

No pressure sensitivity and did not work well at all until I turned off Ink mode in wacom program. Works fine in the .2 version. I agree my Wacom is just a mouse with more motion control.

Kevin, I submitted a ticket and got this response 10 min later:
"I apologize for the issues you are experiencing with the latest 2019.5 update and the Wacom tablet; our developers are actively investigating and working on the bug you have reported."
So it certainly looks like On1 team is aware of and are working on the problem.

Excellent!

My wacom pen will not work with the latest version of ON1, it works with LR and PS but not ON1, as yet I have not received a satisfactory reply from ON1 Technical

All the other issues I can live with, but not being able to use my Wacom is real deal breaker. In the release notes the Wacom issues will be addressed in a future release, but the timeframe is unknown. This one issue is all that is keeping me on .2.

I am very dissapointed that they did not fix this Wacom issue and basically blew it off. I am now opening myself up to other editing packages. In my mind, the Wacom tablet is a huge part of doing photo editing. To "leave it to the future" means until the next full release in my book. This shows me that they are they are doing one or more of the following:
1) not enough software programmers
2) too many new features without carefully keeping up with the old bugs
I doubt that they are going to update 2019 again and if they do, it will be awhile and maybe even after they come out with 2020.

Just installed 2019.5 and of course, like everyone here I cannot use my Cintiq 13HD.
Pressure but no selection etc.
Works fine in Affinity, DxO and NIK and have the latest driver.
I have submitted a ticket to keep the issue alive with them. Fingers crossed as using the mouse alone will be a real pain!

Stephen, if you go int the Wacom Destop Center and then go to the mapping section of the Wacom Tablet properties, you should see a "Use Windows Ink" check box down in the lower left corner.
You have two options with the Cintiq (assuming it works like my Intuos Pro). You can use it as a mouse, or you can use it with pressure sensitivity. Only one, but not both. This is the existing problem that ON1 has not fixed that appeared in 2019.2 and is STILL in the latest release.
If you uncheck the "Use Windows Ink" check box, you can use the Cintiq as a mouse.
If you keep it checked, you can use it for pressure sensitivity.
It is a very annoying issue for me. I have to use it as a mouse, because otherwise I would not be using ON1 at this point. I think it is a big problem and I was very, very dissapointed that they did not fix it.

Thanks Kevin.
I got that.
Just figured the more reports the better! :)

A reply from ON1
............................................................
Thanks for contacting ON1 support! I apologize for this issue with your Wacom tablet not working properly in the latest version of Photo RAW. Our developers are aware of this incompatibility and are actively working to resolve it.
I recommend to try and disable Windows Ink: click on the Windows Start button and select Wacom Tablet > Wacom Tablet Properties, uncheck the "use Windows Ink" option, as this has resolved the issue for most users.
If the problem persists, we will be releasing an update in the near future with a fix in place. We appreciate your patience while we work to solve this issue.
Let me know if you need further assistance. Thanks for choosing and using ON1!
.............................................................
I have replied, stating that I have tried various methods including Group Policy ---> Disable Windows Ink (I don't use it anyway), and inserted a link to this forum. I also pointed out that graphics tablets are rather important and that this issues has been around since 2019.2.
I also pointed out that it works fine in Affinity Photo, DxO Photolab 2 and DxO NIK plugins, just to rub a bit of salt in......
Guess now I wait, like everybody else.

I have an Intuos PT M tablet.
I can switch the Windows-ink option on or off.
It doesn't make any difference. I can't use the pen wihin On1
It moves the cursor, but that's it.
Is there anything that I forgot?

Wacom Desktop center, under "updates", shows Driver 6.3.35-3 as being the current driver on my Windows 10. Is that the same for you? Are you saying you cannot move any slider bars in any of the right side panes with your pen?
I have had instances where I lost the ability to double click with the wacom pen, and I exited and restarted ON1 and the problem cleared.
I leave Windows Ink unchecked in the Wacom desktop center and I am able to use the wacom pen as a mouse as far as moving sliders, turning on color, stars, etc in Browse.

I have done all the things you have tried Kevin, and also have the same driver.
No joy. I cannot even double click at all.
I can at least draw, albeit without pressure so at least masking is possible.

I have this problem .... in On1 2019-5 and 2019-6
Windows Ink on: Pen pressure, No selection
Windows Ink off: No pen pressure, selection available
I have wacom Intuos pro S

Rafael - That is not surprising. The release notes for 2019.6 clearly indicate the problem with tablets has not been corrected.
