For reference, I'm running Majave 10.14.4 on a iMac (Retina 5k, 27", Late 2015) with 3.2Gnz Intel Core i% and 24Gb RAM.  The image library sits on a G-RAID 8Tb external drive.

I'm running on a MacBook Pro with OS 10.14.5 and I'm able to import from my SD card. However, I am unable to get a preview in Grid mode. It does show properly while Editing and in Full Screen mode but will not preview in Grid view.

As a test, what happens when you import to your internal drive?

@Brian.  I thought it might be a Folder/Subfolder issue as the original import dialog box is at the "drive" level of the hierarchy and my camera actually saves files to a subfolder.  But I never had this type of problem before.  So, I selected "Choose..." from the source pull-down and drilled to the proper folder.  After selecting that option, I can see all the images in a grid view (but I saw all of them from the "untitled" drive source before.  I then tried importing the 831 images and got the same result.  A dialog pops up saying "Searching..." then the dialog goes away an no images are imported into my cataloged photo library on an external drive.

I then used Finder to move the files from my SD card to a folder on my iMac's desktop.  Then tried importing and got the same result.

What is interesting is that the import my import routine includes a naming convention that ends with an index.  In this case upon importing, I reset the index to "001" - when I try to import the images again, the index is set to start at "832" like it is adding files after a prior import.  But those files are not in my folder (either looking for them with Browse in On1 or using Finder).

I am importing off an Amplim 64Gb DuraData UHS-II card.  I've been using it for about 6months and have no problem writing additional images to it in my camera.  The files are discoverable in Finder.  So I don't think the card is the problem.

The files are .orf raw files off an Olympus OM-D e-M1 mk2 camera.

This problem only occurred once I updated to .5 of Photo RAW.

My image finally showed up when I launched the program today in response to a tech support question about the bug report I filed on this. It has to do with the slow cataloging that came with the .5 update. Previously my Photos album was entirely cataloged. Since .5 it sits at 99% done 100% of the time. Support said it is an issue they are aware of and are looking into it.
