Keywords and their implementation in ON1 Photo RAW
Maybe I am missing something as I always though Keywording was something that you did yourself rather than having the application scan your harddisk and add keywords from images that it finds. And here I am not talking about the Cataloged Folders as they are only non-destructive edits on those images ... RAW or Pixel.
Why is it simply so frustrating trying to use ON1 Photo RAW as we need to adapt workflow to it, not use our own workflow. I know of no other application that acts like this as all other applications I use I am at liberty to have a set of keywords and allocate them as I see fit.
There just doesn't seem to be much though put into implementation of these 'features' as they are certainly not what I want ... on my disks are exported images that are then scanned and keywords added to the list.
Also there is no way to purge unused keywords, you need to do it manually.
How do you stop ON1 Photo RAW from scanning folders for keywords and then adding them to the list?
It is simply so frustrating using Photo RAW now as no thought has been put into these "features" ... there is no way I want Photo RAW to pick up keywords from folders other than those I create to be applied to cataloged images.

I agree 100%.
It is really worse that everything you have said and I see NO effort to fix the problem !
I can not even use my computer as 2019.5 continuously goes into "Not Responding" for minutes at a time.
I have used On1 for more than 4 years but I am ready to move on -- they can't or won't remove the bugs so that the system is useable !!!!

There are fixes for keywording coming, they are working on it.

I hope the fix is solid and available soon. I suspect many users who really want to establish a keyword hierarchy, like me, have a lot of keywords in older files that need to be cleaned up. On1 2019.5 as released is unusable for this task and for keywording in general. Seems like this important new feature in the release was not tested in any rigorous way before release.
