    Peter,

Your result looks really good for such a high ISO. Will your tutorial be just for Plus members, or will it be generally available (free or paid)? I find ON1 sharpening and noise reduction generally disappointing.

    Gerry.

    Peter,

onphoto is way over the 2mb limit here, but it's not a viewable file anyway, onphoto only works inside of On1.

Rick, Apparently you missed the fact that I already reported this support+id191345

And It's perfectly clear that .onphoto is to be used only in PR, that's the entire point of this post "exporting to jpg softens ths image

    Gerry,

I'm creating this for my photo club. I'll gladly share once completed. I agree about noise reduction and sharpening and find ACR superior.  Simple steps using On1 PR 2019.5: 1) open 10 images in layers 2) select align visible 3) change opacity on each layer from bottom 100, 50, 33, 25, 20, 17, 15, 13, 11, 10 -  4) combine layers 5) apply additional noise reduction if required.

Peter, I downloaded your .Onphoto file and did an export to be honest I can't see much difference In fact I would argue that the export to .jpg looks a bit sharper to me. Not sure why our results would be different. 1st photo is your .onphoto file 2nd photo is the exported version viewed in On1 3rd is exported photo viewed with Windows Photo .

Peter, no I didn't miss that, but it sounded like you were asking why you couldn't post onphoto files in this forum.

"An aside - .onphoto files not permitted????"

    David,

Using only On1 Photo Raw 2019.5 and Windows Snip on my monitor this screen capture (105%) shows slightly more noise and sharper image for onphoto. I added labels using snip.

Patrick, Pulled up a side by side in On1 and I do agree -- I added a TIFF just for grins -- it's on the Right. JPG is a lossy compression so perhaps that is what is making the image a bit softer??

    David,

I suspect that On1 is applying additional noise reduction on export - noise reduction by it's nature slightly blurrs ... I'll give tiff a go -

didn't notice any difference onphoto > tiff

Has anyone tried using Quick Export rather than the Export module? The User Guide doesn't say a lot about it, but I think it bypasses adding anything to the photo. If you think noise reduction is being added, Quick export might avoid that.

Just tried it and found no difference export vs quick export

    Peter,

Thank you for the info. I will definitely try this approach.
