lost half my session edits
After spending most of yesterday editing a shoot from Saturday, I exported all my proofs, closed ON1 and shut my laptop down. Went to my desktop to review the exports on a large screen, noticed a few issues I had missed on the laptop. Went back to my laptop (where all the raw files and .on1 files are stored) and opened ON1. To my dismay I found that although my star and colour ratings for all the images were intact, most of my edits on those images had disappeared.
After looking into all the files in my edit folder, I think I have realized the reason for the problem (my fault I think). I used two cameras for this shoot - a Nikon D610 and a Fuji X-T3 and for consistency I set the file names up the same on both. I didn't think this would be an issue as the raw files extensions are different (.raf and .net). I never took into consideration that ON1 edits are stored in files with the same first part of the filename (the 8 portion of an 8.3 style filename) and different extensions. So, what ended up happening is that I ended up editing all the .nef files first, then the .raf files - at which point all the edits from .raf files got stored in the already existing .on1 files that were created for the .nef edits. Because I had slightly more Nikon images than Fuji, I ended up with a dozen or so Nikon images that still had there edits.
So..... lesson learned....... the bottom line is, if you're using multiple cameras on a shoot, do one of the following:
1) Name the files differently in all cameras
2) Store them in different folders when you copy them off the camera's storage cards
3) Import them through ON1 and either rename or give each camera a different numbering scheme.
I hope this helps someone from going through the same problem I did.

You should report this as a bug. The program itself share .on1 files between the original RAW images and merged HDRs, layered image, & merged panorama. These all go into either .dng or .onphoto files leaving only one .on1 file to manage the edits.

Alternatively, when exporting your shots, select "Prevent Overwrite" in the Export pane under Location
