Linux Manjaro version of Onone
AnsweredPlease, please port to Linux as Windows is driving me crazy.
After endless Windows updates the problems started.
Had to re-install Windows 10 over the weekend as it kept on displaying critical error on boot and none of the recovery options or fixes worked.
Surely I am not the only user preferring Linux?
Onone RAW 2019 is great.

I would like a linux version too. This program is the only reason I am still using Windows...

Same here. Keeping a whole W10 install and dual booting only to run ON1... (Tried to run it in a vbox but it's definitely not worth it). IMO, a native Linux version would be a **major** improvement !

The place to make these kinds of suggestions are at the ON1 Photo RAW Project. Check to see it this has already been suggested and if not write a new one. If enough other users agree with your suggestion it will eventually be implemented. It does take a while for the company to review new suggestions and make them available for others to vote for.

Bonjour,
----------------------------
I have both a windows pc at my home and a linux mint pc at another home.
I tried to install ON1 under Wine but without success.
So in a context where we use different platforms and systems it's a pity that the software is not on all existing systems.

Same for me. Windows finally pushed me too far and I reloaded with Linux (Mint). How hard could it be to port to Linux? They have people working on Android apps. Do they not realize Android is basically Linux? Grab one of those people and ask them to try compiling the On1 code on Linux and see what happens. What could it hurt?

Hello
Any news about a Linux version ? It's been announced for soooo long :-(

I don't think there ever will be one. I've never heard the company announce one and every single suggestion for it on the ON1 Photo RAW Project has been declined.

Being myself a dev, I understand the difficulties behind such an implementation, but when I first bought ON1 years ago there was definitely an annoucement for a Linux version within "a couple of months".
I actually use LightWorks on Linux and other "big" multimedia applications on that same plateform, even though my distribution (ParrotSec) is not the most spread...
The only reason I keep that other Windows machine is ON1.
Should I switch to Darktable ? They're definitely at the same level...
So, ... to the dev team.. please reconsider building a Linux debian-based version. Your product is being even greater even at every version. So much that I've already bought every year a "lifetime license". ..
PS: happy new year :-)

Happy New Year, Sébastien. You should know that you are not talking to the company here. We are just other users like yourself who are trying to help. We have no sway with the company.
I'm pretty sure the software is developed using Microsoft's Visual Studio IDE. It can produce both Mac and Windows programs from the same base set of code but not Linux. To port to Linux would involve a whole new set of code just for that OS and all the associated hassles that come with maintaining parallel sets of code.
If you want to let the company know directly you can use the Submit a request link below and send a message to Technical Support or to Customer Service.

I know it's a user forum.
Until last year I onwed a ON1+ License where another forum was dedicated to such "improvment" suggestions.
Today I can't afford that license so I posted here, to see if others users were concerned with the same issue or if I was the only one on Earth ;-) ...

The place for making suggestions is the ON1 Photo RAW Project page I linked above. Like I've said though, the company has already Declined every single suggestion that has been made for a Linux port. They don't even comment on them, just flat out turn down the suggestion. Feel free to try again though.
