Losing all edits for no reason!?!?
I just spent about an hour editing a photo (crop, develop, followed by effects, added a layer with a sky, then an intricate masking to reveal the sky to replace the overcast day.) I was almost done when I hit the X key, thinking to switch from painting out to painting in in my mask (like is the norm in Photoshop, and I thought I remembered being the case in ON1 RAW too) and my photo disappeared. I realized then that it had been changed from "Liked" to "Disliked" when I hit X and vanished because I was filtering on "Liked". I go to browse to change it back to "Liked" and ALL MY EDITS WERE GONE.
Seriously? Is that what is supposed to happen if you are in the middle of editing and hit X?? Just BOOM and all your work is lost?? This sucks the will to edit right out of me. I just don't have the patience to recreate that damned mask again.
YES, I am using sidecar files. Is there any possibility of recapturing my edits??

It sounds like you found another bug in the program. You should report this to tech support. There is a link at the bottom of the page.

I was unable to duplicate this on my system. I set an image to Liked then made some edits. While still in edit mode I pressed the X key to dislike it as you described above and I was returned to the browser with the image no longer visible until I turned off the Filters. The image was displayed again and I still had all my edits.
I'm on a Mac so it may be different on a Windows system but I would not expect it to be.
Try duplicating the problem and if it does happen again report it to support.

I'm on Windows and I agree with Brian, your photo and edits should still be there.
What I find strange is that you can change that setting without being in filmstrip mode. I had a similar issue last year where I hit the / accidentally and deselected the photo while I was working on it. I reported the bug and was told that was how it works, but when I try that now it looks like it's been fixed.
I would report this, you shouldn't be able to change labels and stars in detail view.
