You don't need a Done button, just click on whatever you want to do next. If it makes you feel better, you can pretend the View button at the bottom of the tool well is the Done button.

Thanks Rick. Remember I'm still learning having spent a lifetime with Lightroom. Lightroom provides Close Buttons for the various retouch tools and a Reset button all nice and close together. It is not intuitive to have to click on another 'tool' when you don't really need it. Actually, as far as I can see if you do an Erase and then want to go to Raw development the Retouch tool doesn't quit when you click on, say, Exposure adjustment.

But clicking on View will have to do. All of these programs have their idiosyncrasies and I'm trying them all at the moment. There are times I think it would just be easier to pay the $10 a month.

That's correct, it doesn't quit. But then it doesn't do anything unless you're brushing anyway. I find it handy that, say transform, for example, stays enabled when you have to switch back and forth between layers to align something. It saves a lot of clicking.

On1 is not hard. With a bit of practice, by this time next week, you'll be a pro! :)

You do have the User Guide, don't you? It's handy to have it open while you're playing around.
