New Update - ON1 Photo RAW 2019.6
There is a new update available for owners of ON1 Photo RAW 2019. If you have auto-updates turned on, you should be prompted to update the next time you launch ON1 Photo RAW 2019. Or, you can download the latest version here: https://on1help.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360018403111-ON1-Photo-Raw-2019-Release-Notes-and-Installation-Instructions
Issues Addressed in the 2019.6 Update
Adds support for Canon CR3 Raw files and addresses a handful of bugs. It is recommended that all owners of ON1 Photo RAW 2019 download this update.
- Canon CR3 Support — This release adds support for uncompressed Canon CR3 format Raw files from these cameras: Canon EOS R, Canon EOS RP, Canon PowerShot SX70, Canon EOS M50, Canon EOS Rebel SL3 (250D/Kiss X10). We are still working on the compressed version or CR3 files (cRAW).
- Added support for the Nikon A1000 and Olympus TG-6 cameras.
- Fixed an issue that could cause instability with Intel 5xx series video cards on Windows.
- Improved brushing performance, especially on low-end Windows video cards. This is an area we continue to improve on.
- Fixed several issues with keywording.
- The installer and application are now notarized by Apple.
- Several other performance and stability improvements.
-
Got the download. Looking forward to testing and other's comments on the quality of CR3 decoding.

Cannot download a demo.
Broken.

That's because there are a half million (give or take) people downloading the update that was released a few hours ago. Check back tomorrow after the commotion.

Bob, the server is up now so you can try again if you like. If you find you're still having troubles I would wait a day or two until demand dies down.

Got the download and then installed. Version 2019.6 shuts down immediately on start-up. Version 2019.5 works fine. Windows 10.

Donald, you could try installing again. Make sure you run the install as an administrator. I installed directly over 2019.5 and had no problem. If you're still having trouble and are ambitious, you could try uninstalling 2019.5 first, but I'd recommend just sending in a support request to On1.

I had installed as an administrator on my initial installation. I waited about 15 minutes then started 2019.6 again and it worked fine. Authentication server overload? Thanks, Rick, for the response.

Glad it's working. There is no reason that you should have had a problem, I have no idea what caused it.

Is the Wacom tablet issue fixed in this release?
0 -
OK, just seen it is not yet fixed:-(
0 -
The release notes say some tablet problems have not yet been fixed.
- Pressure Sensitive Tablets on Windows 10 — Some pressure-sensitive tablets on Windows 10 may not register clicks or support pressure. For many users, disabling the Windows Ink option in the tablet driver will fix this. For others, it will not.

You should send your file to support. You won't be able to attach it to the support request, it's too large. Zip the .cr3 & its .on1 & .xmp files together then put the .zip file on a sharing service such as Dropbox and include the download link in the message to support along with the info requested on this page: https://on1help.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360018405111-How-to-submit-a-problem-to-ON1-Tech-Support-A-Step-by-step-Guide

Wolfgang, I am not familiar with how the new Canon's use CR3 but it looks like there are two options. Uncompressed and compressed. Probably a silly question on my part but --- Are you sure you are not using the compressed CR3 ? This is from the release notes:
- Canon CR3 Support — This release adds support for uncompressed Canon CR3 format Raw files from these cameras: Canon EOS R, Canon EOS RP, Canon PowerShot SX70, Canon EOS M50, Canon EOS Rebel SL3 (250D/Kiss X10). We are still working on the compressed version or CR3 files (cRAW).

I use EOS R. There are 2 options of quality RAW and cRAW. I always use RAW (not cRAW for compressed RAW)

this new update did not fix the issues with keywording.

2019.6 seems to have fixed my issue that caused instability with Intel 5xx series video card on Windows.

Still can't download,Mojave, MacBook pro 2013, 10mbit download. I had this problem with the last upgrade and ON1 support gave a me a alternate address.

You can try this page, but if it doesn't work you'll have to get another alternate address from support.

Yeah, CR3 support is dependent on you having recent graphics card driver (support says max 6 months old). Does not matter that your hardware fulfills the minimum requirements, the driver must be recent as well (I have no idea why). At least, that's what support told me.
I got a refund, tired of waiting for CR3 support...

Edvard,
Not sure what you mean by tired of waiting for support. They told you to update your graphics driver. Your graphics card does not need to be less than 6 months old you just need a current driver that supports open GL 3.3 or higher..
Why not just update your graphics card driver? It's not hard.
All that said if your card and drivers do not support Open GL 3.3 or higher then your system does not meet the minimum requirements.
What are your card specs & manufacturer?
Minimum:
OpenGL 3.3 compatible video card with 256 MB video RAM, 1280x720 resolution (at 100% scale factor)
Recommended:
OpenGL 4.2 compatible video card with 2GB dedicated video RAM, 1920x1080 resolution

There is no new enough graphics driver for my card. The card fulfills the requirements, except for the date of the driver. I have been through all this with support. They offered me refund. I gladly accepted. End of story.

Edward, I understand you accepted a refund but then you imply there is an issue with ON1 CR3 support when you said "tired of waiting for CR3 support..."
There is CR3 support. Your graphics card / driver simply do not meet system requirements.

The graphics card meets the official system requirements, as also verified by the Support department. It does NOT meet the unofficial 'driver less than 6 months old' requirement 'made up' by the Support department.
I'm switching to Canon DPP4 for my CR3 processing requirements for the time being. Maybe I'll be back later (new PC maybe?) or maybe I'll bite the bullet and return to Lightroom? Time will tell.0 -
@David Kick I can see you are defending the product out of loyalty, but the bottom line is it does not reliably support .cr3 files, it's as simple as that. I have a computer which far exceeds all minimum requirements, including a more-than-adequate graphics card which supports a much newer version of open GL than the specs demand and HAS the latest drivers. .cr3 files simply do not work! End of story.
I have a second computer which also surpasses all requirements and it too does not open .cr3 files in On1 Photo RAW 2019.6. The implementation is useless to many and that is the very reason I visited the forums just now, to see if anyone who had failures with 2019 versions has had any luck with the new preview of On1 Photo RAW 2020? If not then I won't waste my time installing it and certainly won't be updating to it. I'll take out another subscription with Lightroom and Photoshop, which in all honesty, are vastly superior anyway. I am not at all keen on the rendering I get from On1 Photo RAW and it is ridiculously slow compared to other raw editors at both bringing up previews and rendering the final output files.0 -
Brian, not sure what to say except CR3 files work with 2019.6 on my Windows 10 machine.
