Stamped Layer and Layers Export Problems
I have a series of layers that are individually masked and placed on top of each other to create a composite. Upon trying to create a stamped layer from the top layer, the resulting image is not the same as what was displayed previously. Either completely black image is created, or there are artifacts at the mask seams, or black areas between mask. A similar problem occurs when trying to export what looks like a good image from within layers. Anyone else experiencing this with the latest release (2019.6 ...13.6.0.7353)?
Note that this composite was created on a blank canvas of a larger size which was then cropped down to the appropriate size to include all images.

Do you mean when having something like this...
And after merging it looks like this...
I spent a couple of hours documenting this and another hour uploading files only to find that they can't reproduce the problem.
My workaround is to arrange the layers and go to browse. Export to TIFF and use the TIFF as your merged layers. An advantage to this method is that you're back to using a single layer and everything runs smoothly again.
Go ahead and send a support request for this to On1. You may need to send them some files to try. Also, include the info requested in this article.
The result of my workaround, after final editing, looks like this.

I wonder if this could be related to Rick W's issue with masks causing the export to be black.

Yes, I'm sure it is which is why I asked about going to Browse.
By the way, this could well be a windows problem since Support can't reproduce it and they aren't using windows.

Yes, the blacked out area you show is similar to one symptom. I also experienced completely blacked out images, and some images that had "seams" where the mask boundaries were, or blacked out areas between masks where one of the images should have been. I had the same thought that it might be related to Rick Ws black export problem. I tried stamping some of the adjacent images with the thought of then merging the stamped layers. Some stamped just fine, others stamped as a black image. I'll see if I can pull together a bug report as soon as I finish working around the problem to finish the job.

OK, I've got to confess I have very little idea of what is going on here. I went back and reconstructed the image, being very careful to do exactly the same thing with every image I added to the scene. I thought I had success until I noticed a gap in the final image where one picture had not been included. I closed the program, restarted, deleted the offending stamped layer and recreated the stamped layer. Now it looks right. Very strange.

I get different results every time I try it, but it always fails. I think you just got lucky.
I'm making a video right now of this to send to Support.

Bt the way Patrick, you shouldn't have to re-construct your project. You should have an .onphoto file from the original project. Everything should still be there, it's not corrupt, it's just the merge process that messes up.
If you do a merge that fails, just undo it (CTRL-Z)

Rick, thx. The purpose of the re-construct was to see if anything residual in the processing queue might have affected the outcome. In the original image I had turned various blending modes on and off and I wanted to be sure that this was not a result of anything I had done before reporting a bug The reconstruction was a very deliberate process of just layering images and using masking.
I have managed to get the image I wanted, but agree that there seems to be something random in the processing. It seems to work find when producing screen images, but saves and exports may or may not be right. I exported a jpeg at 80% and got a good image; I exported at 50% and got a black image; I exported a second time at 50% and got a good image. The oddest one is shown below, but it might give the developers some clues as to what is going on:

It sounds like they are having a really tough time finding this problem, so the more info you can send, the better. Don't forget to include the info detailed here...
