Exporting JPEG that is totally black

Would help to know if you're exporting from Edit or Browse. If in Edit, go to Browse and try it. If that works then it's a bug that On1 is already working on though you can report it if you like.

If it doesn't work in Browse either, then you'll need to post more info about what you're doing or write up the problem and open a support request with On1.

I agree with Rick's comment.  I've had that happen to me as well.  It usually happens when in edit mode.  I found switching to browse mode will flush any data to be written to file.   I've not only had to do that for the black export, but for side effects with layers, etc.

This is a major problem for me. Almost every export, whether quick or full export fail. It's getting worse day by day. I'm using 2019.6 - the latest release. I've just tried to export an image a dozen times, both in browse and in edit and they are failing every time. It's a bug and big one!

Dave, have you contacted support about this? Give them access to the image file you're having trouble with along with its sidecar files. You'll have to upload them to a public sharing source such as Dropbox or WeShare then include the download link in your support request along with the info requested at https://on1help.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360018405111-How-to-submit-a-problem-to-ON1-Tech-Support-A-Step-by-step-Guide.

David, are you saving the photo as ProRGB or SRGB?  I had the same problem and when I switched to SRGB the JEPG pictures exported with no problem..

Hi Rick, I'm exporting as SRGB. My approach is to shut down ON1 and then reopen. This sometimes works. Last night I did a batch export and of the 30 images, 8 were black. I shut down ON1, reopened and re exported the 8 files and all worked OK. It's bizarre. I never seemed to have this problem before 2019.5 so I'm thinking something happened in this release.

Hi Brian. No, I haven't done as yet but I will. It's annoying as sometimes I have to repeat the export process several times to get one to work. Others work OK. It's really ad-hoc.

David, the other change I made when I had this problem was to change my settings on my NVIDIA graphics card from games to studio. I'm not sure if you have this graphics card but if you do it may help. ON1 is a love/hate relationship. When things go wrong you throw up your arms and say you are going back to Adobe. When things go right, it's the best photography software out there. I feel your pain.
