Thanks .6 for hosing my keyword search.
Is there a quick way to remove all keywords, other than deleting the sidecars, so I can start over?
Thanks.

I am leaning toward reinstalling .5, deleting all the .on1 files and starting over.

You haven't said what the problem is.
.6 is supposed to have some fixes with keywords. If you're going to start over, maybe it should be with .6 and not with .5.
BTW, deleting all .on1 files won't help you as I stated in that linked post. Also, if you're re-installing .5 to get rid of keywords, you need to do a CLEAN install otherwise the database will still be there.

The problem is, no photos showing in a keyword search.
Photos with a keyword not showing in a search.
Photos that should have a keyword with no keyword.
Single photos showing in the search with the wrong keyword.
What I am doing now is staying with .6 and reapplying keywords to all photos in a category even if they individually already show the keyword.
This seems to reestablish the connection between the keywords and searches.

Usually, when I have problems with a keyword search, it's because I forgot to enable catalogues in the search path.
I don't see how you could get search results with the wrong keyword. It would be good if you could explain that further.

It's not a wrong keyword from the search. The photo appearing in the search is wrong for that keyword.
This has happened a few times just now but I can't rule out previous human error in this instance.
With the other issues I am searching from the keyword list by right clicking and choosing Find Cataloged Folders With Keyword.

I see problems with the program finding the images associated with some keywords. In particular it will never find any image from a keyword that had been previously deleted from the list then somehow mysteriously reappears due to having been embedded in something somewhere. Follow all that? :)
If the program can see the keyword which has been embedded into an image file to add it back into the keyword list how can it not be able to find that file when searching for that list for that same keyword?

Keep in mind that when the keyword gets added back to the list, that is On1 FINDING that keyword somewhere other than the catalogue (.on1/exif/embedded) and adding it as a new keyword. AFTER it's added, On1 should be able to find that photo, but before that, the keyword wasn't in the catalogue for it to find.
And yes I know that if you delete a keyword it should be deleted everywhere. Take that up with On1.
I was hoping that 2019.6 fixed these keyword problems. I haven't had a chance to test it yet.

I have an extensive dialog with the engineers on keyword problems. ;) And, I agree completely with your assessment. You summarized it differently than me.

Well, I just wanted to point out that it can't find the photo because the keyword isn't in the database. It was deleted. I know it's still out there somewhere, but On1 searches the database for keywords not all of the other locations. Once the catalogue updates itself and adds the keyword back in, then the search should work.
Did I just say the same thing twice? o_O

Yes, I guess I wasn't clear that I was searching after the keywords had been added back into the keyword list. My searching was done by double-clicking the list entry. We are on the same page.

Cool
Also, I forgot to mention something for Tom...
If you have more than one photo selected and you delete any keyword by using the keywords area of the metadata panel, all of the selected photos will be assigned whatever keywords the superselected photo has. Which means you could be deleting wrong keywords from those photos AND adding wrong keywords to those photos at the same time.
You should always use the keyword list to remove keywords from multiple photos.
I don't know if you're doing that, just be careful with it.
