Editing video metadata

I think the issue is that the video file format states that times are stored as UTC. What needs to happen is for ON1 PR to be able to interpret these times on videos

I think video metadata is a real mess! Having said that I still attempt to adjust video date and time with other tools like exiftool and ffmpeg so that my videos align in time with my JPGs.

However, I find that On1 often does not "re-read" the new video metadata that I have changed. When I check the Capture Date in the Info or EXIF or IPTC sections the old date time info is still there.

How can I get On1 to refresh this data??

Mike, in the photo menu, Read data from Photo.

My issue is with videos. And that option is greyed out for videos.

Hmmm, and yet Embed metadata is not Greyed out.

There are no other options in On1.

You could move the photo (or folder) out of the catalog path and back again which might trigger an update, or rebuild catalogs but no easy ways to do this.

I have even tried to "trick" On1 by renaming the video in Windows. The filename changes when I open another folder then come back to the original folder. But the metadata date and time remains as originally read by On1.

Tried moving video to another drive in On1, renamed video in Windows, refreshed folder view in On1, then moved video back to original folder.

Checking video metadata with MediaInfo and Exiftool the "correct" dates and times are present in the metadata.

However, when I find the file in On1 the date time metadata is gone and the file is sorted to the very end of the folder view.

Like I said, video metadata is a real mess.

Maybe a support ticket to On1 is in order?
