PR 2019.6 is SO SLOOOOWWWWW!

I've just finally taken 2019.6 for a little bit of a spin, and I'm extremely disappointed. The entire program is glacial! Selecting photos, moving from one photo to another, trying to move scroll bars, painting with color, retouching...they're all so slow as to make the program absolutely unusable. I'm on a windows 7 laptop. Anyone else having this problem? Hard to believe it's just me.

    Add a small SSD to your system with its own connection, don't plug it into a hub or daisy chain it with another drive. You want it to have its own I/O channel. You'll want to dedicate this drive for scratch space & browser preview cache. I added a 120GB SSD with a USB3 connection to the laptop and called it "Scratch".

    Go to Preferences > System. You'll see buttons to Move the Scratch Folder Location & Browse Cache.

    Once you've made the changes, Quit the program and relaunch it. After that you can delete the original Scratch & PerfectBrowseCache folders from your internal drive and reclaim that space.

    I have the same problem with my pc on windows 10. It is a very powerful computer where LR goes very smoothly but ON1 hangs up, the program closes and the work is tedious and very slow.

    Make sure you have configured your system so ON1 can make full use of your video card. Download the latest drivers from the card manufacturer's site and configure them according to this article: https://on1help.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/115000138471-How-to-Update-Video-Card-Driver-and-Set-Default-GPU-Open-GL-3-3-Error-Windows-Only- 

    Moving the program's scratch space to a dedicated SSD will also speed up the program's performance.

    There is another more recent update on the Microsoft website, but it is not verified by the motherboard manufacturer and cannot be installed, nor do I want to force the computer if possible because I do not want to break it.
    I have reinstalled the ON1 software again but unfortunately the same problems persist in your software. (It wasn't a surprise, I already expected it)
    I feel it's bad news, I really like ON1

    Adobe Lightroom runs on my machine, games, video editors, movies, etc ... without any performance problems.
    I also installed a trial version of Luminar3 that also gave me no performance problems on my computer.
    (Which is in several languages ​​in addition to mine, Spanish, much appreciated, and the trial expired)
    I have decidedly reached the most logical, normal conclusion.
    The problem is in your software and not in my machine, or in the configuration or on the graphics card or virtual memory or the processor.

    I explain why I think this ...
    Since the last software update, when I use the automatic Tone & Color settings in development it takes an average of One and a half minutes to apply it! (1m, 25 s almost always) timed with my watch. (this problem is new now)
    Incredible to apply only a few simple parameters of lights, shadows and contrast. (Another fault is that these never work properly and a large gap in these parameters is usual. But it was not automatic? Well, No)
    While this is happening, that the hourglass is working and ON1 is locked at this time, (1.30 minutes put your timer) I look at the task manager and Ho surprise !.
    The use of the processor is 10%, the Ram memory 60% the GPU engine is at 0.4%.
    Conclusion. Simple? (sometimes it is the most appropriate):

    -Your program does not properly use any of these elements in the development and edition of images- (But if in the catalog of libraries and conversion of images! Oh, my God)

    And I waiting the minute and a half for the program to apply lights and shadows to the image. I'm going to have a tea or coffee and I'll come back ..

    Ok, if I have 50 images to edit, you can calculate only three simple parameters. I'm not in a hurry either but the days are short to be doing this.

    This is why I know that the machine is not locked and I can if I want to use other software without affecting its performance.
    If it were the machine, it could not open other programs or it would be very slow. It is a problem of ON1.
    If you have improved something in the unexpected closures, and in the editing of layers, the intelligent layers, the size of the font ... although with more than two or three layers the program stops responding properly and the editing becomes almost impossible.

    Have you thought that maybe you could find yourself in handling the RAW format of Canon or other cameras? It is a possibility perhaps.

    I think the program is very good, in that it is very intuitive, easy to learn even if I do not understand your English language, I find it great and I would not like to discard it but I see that in the end I will have to change if the problems are not solved.

    Thank you Brian for your suggestion and I'm sorry I didn't respond sooner.

    I'm about to purchase an SSD as you suggest.  If it doesn't work I'll still be able to use it for my backup photo storage.
