New Mac -- Mac mini or iMac
In reviewing the new mac mini, many youtube reviewers comment that photographers don't need the graphics capabilities and therefore the mac mini is just fine. They go on to comment that video editors are the ones that need good graphics cards.
However, in listening to the videos here at On1, it sounds like the new speed increases coming to the 2020 version utilize graphics chips or cards in some manner.
Therefore, my question is: In general, in buying a new mac, should I avoid the graphics-card challenged Mac Mini and opt for the iMac which has a beefier graphics card? The advantages of the Mini is price and my choice of a monitor, but I don't want to hamstring the speed of On1.
Thanks, D

You want the best video card you can get for ON1. It relies heavily upon a good GPU.

That's what I figured. By the way, I think a short video on good and better computers for the application would be useful to many people. Just a thought.

That's a suggestion you'll have to pass along to ON1. Rick & I are just users like yourself, we are not employees. I'm sure others would find it useful as well.

I'm running on a Hackintosh using the motherboard built in UHD Graphics 630. Performance of On1 PR2020 is fine. I do have a high end processor (I7 8700K) and 16GB though.
