No, you don't need to uninstall the beta first, but you can if you want to start fresh for some reason. The Uninstall script will uninstall ALL On1 products at the same time.

As an owner of Photo Raw you need to activate it in order to use it beyond the 30 day trial. The uninstaller is just saying if it is Active, to deactivate it first before uninstalling otherwise your account will still show it as active.

If you don't have the message in the upper right that you have a 30 day trial, then it's activated already.

Other than Beta, there is only one version of the Photo Raw final release, unless that's what you meant by Public.

Thank you Rick. Your explanation is very clear.

Will the Uninstaller also delete all the ON1 2019 files as well?

Yes, I was referring to the Final Release as the Public Version

Thanks again for your prompt response.

Yes, as I mentioned above... Uninstall script will uninstall ALL On1 products at the same time.

So, if you don't want to lose 2019, don't use the uninstall script. Just install 2020 over top of the beta. Later if you don't need 2019, you can remove that separately.

At that ime, you can use the instructions found here...

I've noticed that when clic on a xxx.on1 (I suppose it's a sidecar), it opens ON1 2019 instead of 2020 with witch it was created.

So I uninstalled 2019 and trashed the 2019 cache folder on my external SSD dedicated to cache and browse.

I was afraid reading the message before uninstall: "all your ON1 versions will be erased", but good luck, 2020 is still there !

Subias, you can't open a .on1 file. It's not intended for that. You should be opening the photo instead and On1 will open the sidecar itself. In addition, opening these files from Explorer is not recommended, you should be using the On1 Browser and when you're in there, you can't see the .on1 files anyway.

If your files are opening with the wrong program, you need to change the association. In Windows, right-click the file and select 'Open With' then find the correct program and check 'Always open with'. I'm sure there is an equivalent with Mac.

The 'All versions will be erased' only applies to the On1 uninstall script. The purpose of the script is to remove ALL On1 software, so you shouldn't be using it unless you know that's exactly what you want to do.

Yes I know .on1 files should not be used for open ON1 software, I'd just tried it because I've 2 sidecars on my finder (with the  2 photos on the side).

About uninstall script, I wrote that using it for uninstall 2019 haven't erased the 2020 version, so "remove ALL On1 software" is wrong.

But don't worry about that, it only was some "? " from me.

When it was written and it removed 2019 and all previous versions it was not wrong. ;)

I dislike being a pest but I followed your instructions Rick and when I started ON1 2020 up I  continued to get the notification that I had 21 days left on my trial version. Does this notification also appear on the Final Release. The version I have is 14.00.7975. Is this the Final Release and should I merely go ahead with the Sign In procedure? Thanks in advance.

7975 is the latest release. Yes, go ahead and sign in and the trial count down will go away.
