Edit in Luminar as an external editor - how to transfer back to PR?

I am interested in the answer to this as well. I am not yet using Luminar, but I have pre-purchased v4. I do like the work flow in ON1 and the software and I have been a loyal user since 2017. But I feel like many others about how ON1 takes 2 steps forward and 3 back every time a release or update comes out. I am open for new and better options and once I get Luminar 4 going, I am going to see how things go. In the mean time, I will be using multiple steps to get the job done. Which is what I am already doing with Nikon Capture NX-D, Nik, Topaz and ON1. Fortunately I am not a professional doing this for a living.

If Luminar does not allow the edits you make with it to be saved in the original file you sent to it then exporting to a new tiff is the only way to get those edits back in ON1. I know there are ON1 users working with Luminar (I'm not one of them) so hopefully, someone can chime in later with a better solution for you.

In case this is not widely known... ON1 will ingest 8-bit, 16-bit LZW compressed TIFF files. Not sure about other TIFF compression options. ON1 does not, and I have been told, has no intention, of providing compressed TIFF exports. They do plan on allowing 8-bit and 16-bit on the export to TIFF as some point in the future.

@Kevin, just as a heads up - I've just invested in On1 after 2 years of struggling with Luminar. I've finally given up on using Luminar as my DAM due to consistent and ongoign problems. L3 lost all my edits (unrecoverable corrupted library)  3 separate times over about 8 months.

So here I am, and even with the minor issues I have, the stability and usability of the On1 software is like a breath of fresh air compared to L3 library functions. I also have L4 (lucky enough to have the early bird delivery last Monday) but will only use it as an editor with PR managing my files.

I would be very cautious with moving in the opposite direction.

I trialled Luminar 3 nearly a year ago and got my money back under their 60 day guarantee, the DAM was useless. I am doing the same with Luminar 4, which comes out on Monday (but not using the DAM). My intention would be to use ON1 for file management and as the main editor, exporting tiff out to L4 for the edits that ON1 is not very good at or when ON1 becomes too frustrating to use (it's something I already do with Aurora HDR and Topaz) then exporting back to ON1. If the sky replacement is as good as everyone says then I feel it will be worth it just for that. Sounds convoluted but it works really well for me.
