Photo Raw 2020 Coming To Foreground
Has anyone else encountered the issue with Photo RAW 2020 constantly popping up to take the foreground while working in other applications? This has become extremely annoying as I'm typing in another application Photo RAW 2020 takes center stage and then goes into Edit mode and applies some edits because of the keystrokes I'm typing. Not only that, on occasions while browsing the net Photo RAW pops up and then move from the last folder I was it to display the /user directory.
To get around this I have to remember to minimize Photo RAW. That way, all that happens is it keeps bouncing in the dock bar.
I have had this happen on Windows and I thought that it was because my mouse accidentally went above the title bar of the window I was working it and clicked on ON1 which was behind it. It happens a couple of times a day for me, but I was assuming I was doing it. It might be that the mouse movement over ON1 causes ON1 to come to the forefront. In Windows, this can be done via program control, and ON1 could be watching certain mouse movements and then intrepreting them incorrectly and causing ON1 to become the front active window.0
It does that whenever a new drive gets mounted or dismounted. Any change that causes the browser display to update will bring the program forward.0
Thanks guys, but neither of those situations apply to me. Just now while working on a different machine, ON1 came to the forefront on my main machine (a Mac desktop). I clicked on Safari to start my reply here and On1 came to the forefront AGAIN midst my typing and added another edit to the photo I was working on beforehand. The only way I can keep this from happening is to minimize On1 every time I move to another app.1
Just FYI, this doesn't happen on my Windows machine. I have those annoying progress bars that sit on top of everything occasionally, but I've never had the program pop up. When it finishes an operation like an Export, I see the tab flashing in the taskbar, but that's all. Even if I plug my camera in (the only 'drive' I need to connect), On1 stays in the background while the taskbar flashes.0
I have had this happen too on a Mac, and as you say, the only solution is to minimise it. It was also a constant irritation in 2019 so it is nothing new. What is new in 2020 is the frequent freezing, sometimes for several minutes during editing.1
@Raymond I did have the same problem in 2019, but on one of the updates, the issue disappeared for me. Looks like it's back now.
Ditto with the freezing for several minutes going into edit module for me. Especially noticeable if I've pasted the settings from another photo.0
