Are you installing the software from an administrator's account?

At what point does the error message get displayed?

How much free space is left on your boot drive?

i'm getting this error too. i bought 2020 as an upgrade and trying to install on a new mac mini m1 so no issue of free space.

do i have to install my previous version then the 2020 upgrade?

    thanks

The 2020 installer is not compatible with the Big Sur version of the OS. However, all is not lost. I was able to install it this morning on my system by using a shareware program called Pacifist. You can download and run a fully functional copy of it for free.

If you look in the /Applications folder you'll see that most everything did get installed. The only piece left is a zipped copy of the actual program. Big Sur will not decompress it but Pacifist will. Right-click on the onapp.zip file and choose the command Open With… then choose Pacifist from the list.

In Pacifist select ON1 Photo RAW 2020.app then use the Extract To… button and extract it into the same folder. When that finishes you can delete onapp.zip.

Hey I just found an easier solution. The link that was in my on1 dashboard wasn't for the latest version of on1 2020.

I found this page on your site

    https://on1help.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360049554691-Mac-OS-11-Big-Sur-Compatibility-

    and there's a link within it -

You can download our last update for ON1 PHOTO RAW 2020 (14.6.0.9837) here

This installed fine. ON1 2020, Big Sur, new M1 chip

    Hope it helps

I did download and run the latest installer just this morning and the installation failed on my 2017 MacBook Pro running 11.1 so apparently it works for some but not for others. For those it fails for there is my workaround.

I did report this to support this morning and it has been passed to the development team.

I wonder if the difference is the M1 vs the Intel systems?
