I've got an iPhone XR with the latest OS (iOS 13.3) and I'm using On1 Photo RAW 2020 on a 2015 Macbook Pro running Catalina (10.15.2). I've been trying to get photos shot on my phone to import onto my HD using the On1 File > Import... function and selecting iPhone as the source. The phone is connected to the laptop via a USB cable - the same one I use when accessing the phone through Music (formerly iTunes) or Photos (formerly iPhotos).
When I attempt to access the photos on the phone (and there are many), I get a dialog box from On1 that says "No photos or videos were found on the camera or phone. Please make sure the device fully powered and unlocked."
The phone has a full charge on it's battery, the laptop is fully charged and plugged in to power, the phone is unlocked. I get nothing. I can launch Photos and see everything, but the only option there is to export the photos from the phone to a HD folder - which I've done. I can get to the exported photos, but this is really not the workflow I'm looking for. I'd like to be able to connect my phone and import files to the HD using On1.
Any clues what I might be doing wrong or may need to do differently?
