Keyword deletion problem and potential solution
If you can't modify or alter a keyword, try searching for photos associated with it i.e. double clicking on the keyword in the Keyword List pane. I found the results pointed to folders that had long been deleted (see the search results path in the top center of the results pane). The search results also returned icons, not thumbnails, which puzzled me until I noticed the search results path. My results path was something like 'Macintosh HD/users/johnsmith/pictures/lightroomlibrary/2016/sweden'. Problem is, the 'lightroomlibrary' folder and all sub-folders had been deleted a long time ago. Since the 'Pictures' folder is still valid, I clicked on it. That zero'd out the search results, but in going back to the keywords, I found I could now delete those orphans. It's as if On1 retained that invalid path, couldn't find photos that contained the keywords I wanted to delete and so didn't do anything. Once I corrected On1 about the path, problem solved - for me, anyway.
I should mention I spent weeks going through my keywords and cleaning them up......so I knew each catalogued photo had the correct keyword. I just couldn't figure out the keyword list issue.....
