Possible Video Card Tech Tip that you may not know about
I have an older computer with a Nvidia card in it and when masking and at other times it blurs and runs slow. Just saw a video on what to do when building a new computer and the person was talking of tweaking the Nvidia controller panel to get the card to work quicker. This is for gaming but it should apply to photos as well.
If you are having issues, try this ... First as you all may know make sure ON1 is one of the programs that is using the video card for 3D rendering exclusively. Then go to manage 3D settings and set it to make power management mode to "prefer high performance" and texture filtering - quality to "high performance". This is for Nvidia but apparently AMD has similar settings.
I just tried it quickly masking and cloning and it seemed to speed up the lag a lot for me. I didn't notice much blurring in the photo. I also opened task manager and it seemed the video card came on right away, went to 15-20% usage and went to 0%; CPU usage seemed to be a little less problematic as well. Maybe long term it will not solve anything.
Give it a try, it may be helpful!

Thanks Vinny. It has been mentioned in the past, but worth repeating.
There is a High performance setting in Windows as well.

Thank you Rick, your post prompted me to check my setting and they were set for PR 2019 and not 2020

Hey Rick,
I knew about the 3D program setting on the graphics but thought the other settings were a new discovery, they were to me. I have ON1 selected as you do but my graphics card software did not indicate a change.
This is what I am talking about which may or may not make the graphics card act differently ... this too may have been posted but never saw it.0 -
Yes Vinny, I understand. I was just mentioning that the settings I posted are in addition to the ones you posted. They might actually have the same effect, but I always check both after every update.

Sorry Rick, just wanted to make sure we were talking about the same thing ... I'm obviously late to the party on this!! :-)
