Topaz crashes during editing
When I export my photo from on1 to Topaz it works and I start editing .. then all of a sudden everything crashes. Why would this be happening please?

Why would we know anything about Topaz?
If you think it's On1 related, then the only option is to try sending a different file format since that is the only connection between the two. You can also try opening some other photos in Topaz to make sure it works that way. If you find Topaz just isn't working properly, the first step might be a re-install.

My questions are:
- How are you "exporting" your photos? Are you using the Export function then opening the exported image in Topaz? Or, are you using the Send To… command to have ON1 automate the process? What file format are you exporting?
- You say you "start editing". In which program, Topaz, Photo RAW?
- Which program is crashing? At what point does the crash occur?
- What are your system specs?
If it is Topaz that is crashing there's probably not much anyone here can do to help but you never know. There are some Topaz users around.

I use ON1 with Topaz. A lot depends on which Topaz product you are using, the AI products are particularly flakey. If you are using cataloguing in ON1 then it will steal resources and Topaz AI products will crash. It's a good idea not use cataloguing at all if you use external editors or to close down ON1 after exporting to them. Reopen ON1 when you have exported your image from the editor.

I have to offer a counter point of view. I have my entire photo library (13.5K+ images) in a single catalog. I just rebuilt it from scratch a couple of days ago and it took less than 24 hours to complete. Yes, while the cataloging process is running it does consume large amounts of system resources, i.e., RAM & CPU usage. However, I have never had it cause any program to crash. I frequently run Photo RAW and other processing software such as Photoshop and Topaz at the same time without any problems.
FWIW, I'm running on a 2017 15" MacBook Pro w/ 16GB of RAM, a 256GB SSD internal boot drive, an external SSD which contains all my photos and other documents (to keep them off the all but full internal SSD), and a 2nd 120GB SSD dedicated to scratch space for Photoshop & Photo RAW. I have also moved the PerfectBrowseCache to the scratch drive.

Despite the comments here the Topaz AI products are not flakey but they do NOT support Layered PSDs so the first thing to do is make sure that you have the What to Edit settings in Preferences Files set to TIF or JPG as they are not layered. Then when you choose Send to the Topaz product they will be able to be edited and saved.

I use On1 with Topaz all the time. I've never had either one crash while using them together, but they are both resource-intensive with both CPU and RAM maxed out, so everything slows to a crawl when they are both running.
I'm with Don, as long as you're only sending TIFF or JPG, Topaz should work fine with On1.
