I reported that during alpha testing. It isn’t just you.

Thanks for letting me know that Brian, you just saved me from trying to re-install. I'll wait for the bug fix (hopefully).
So far loving the update, ON1 has come a long ways since I started using them in 2017 ;)

I have hunted and can not find a way around this annoying issue. I am glad I loaded this new version on a test system... I will wait until there is a fix for this issue before I put the new load to production platform.

It is such a minor issue it isn't worth waiting for the next update IMHO. The performance improvements more than make up for the annoyance of having to expand the filter's panel before I can make adjustments to it.

Even though I reported it during testing I recommend everyone submit a bug report to tech support about it all the same. The more people complain about it the more likely it is to get fixed.

I surely don't like nor want to have to open every filter every time but I'll deal with it for now, 2020.1 seems to be running smoothly overall.

I'll report the bug too and I'm sure they'll eventually fix it. (Hopefully in the next version download or sooner).

I expect (hope?) it will be fixed when the Sync version is released.

Just to note: It really does make me wonder how a bug like this can make it in to a newer and better version when it was working great in the previous version. I almost always use several filters in each edit and this is really annoying. Two nights of editing now with this bug and I'm honestly about to just go back to the previous version.

There was a post on the Plus Forums where someone shared their response from support who said it was a feature intended for adding Presets and will be fixed in the next update.

I just got this response from Stevie. :)

    Hello,
Thank you for contacting ON1 Support.

This is a side effect bug of a change made to this functionality when adding a preset.
Functionally should be the filter being added is open and not collapsed.

It is logged with our dev team and is currently being worked on.

I don't have an ETA for a fix, but we'll let everyone know once it is available.

Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

    Regards,

Stevie | Tech Support & QA Engineer

I ended up going back to the previous version, too many bugs in 2020.1

Besides the extra click to open Effects Panels, a few menus were all scrunched up and over-lapping each other and a few other minor and annoying issues.

I'll wait for them to address and fix these issues.

The 2020 8289 version works flawlessly on my machine and does everything I need it to do, it did suck though having to reload it and add all my textures and meta data presets etc again though! lol

I to am quite annoyed with this issue. However for me it is one among many in the .1 release. this in my 5th year using On1 products and have not been disappointed until this version. I have been having significant performance issues once i apply 3+ effects the program becomes nearly unusable. Yes i have done all the copy paste fixes they throw at us. Still waiting on a response from my latest ticket. (day 3) Have been using a  30 day free trial from a competitor ACDsee.On1 seems to have a better work flow, which may be due to my familiarity but man the speed difference is astonishing! Not giving up yet tho.
