I find on my disc version 2020 (14.0.0.7975) and no problem. I have Microsoft Surface Pro and Windows 10 Pro. Only the lasted version has a problem.

Same problem, but only on one of my two PCs. Re-installing ON1 doesn't help. System checked fo corrupted files - negativ.

Have submitted a report to the support team.

    Response from Support:
We believe the issue may be due to an install failure with a specific run-time library.
Please download and install this Microsoft C++ Run-time package and let us know if this resolves this issue for you.

Following Bernd's post I have updated all my Microsoft C++packages (2010, 2012 & 2015 , both x64 and x86). It seems to have a positive effect, but have not done much since updating. Will update this post once I have stressed the app a bit.

Update: Restarted the PC and opened 2020.1, the first thing it did was update the catalogue, this had not happened since I did the re-install 2 weeks ago and I had made a lot of changes in Browse and Edit in that time,  it was using ~40-65% CPU, 65% RAM and 6% GPU. On completion of the cataloguing I started playing about in Browse - thumbnails load instantly and selection changes like stars, like/dislike are also instant. In Edit I noticed a huge improvement in rendering, masking is now smooth and changing black and white points with the clipping indicators on is now in real time (before it was very delayed). Moving vignettes into position is now very smooth. I have managed to keep the video card performance at the default values with the slider in the centre and fast panning, Fast Preview and GPU Render selected. The resource usage  increases with the more intense operations with RAM ~50-65% GPU ~30-40%. I had not seen 2020.1 using this amount before, so it looks as though it is making better use of available resources. If it stays like this I will be a very happy bunny!
