    Response from Support:
We believe the issue may be due to an install failure with a specific run-time library.
Please download and install this Microsoft C++ Run-time package and let us know if this resolves this issue for you.

    Yep, that solves the problem!

I also just noticed you are in Develop when trying to export. Try returning to Browse 1st.  I think most would recommend returning to Browse before exporting. This makes sure all your edits are saved

Not trying to be a wise guy but have you tried exporting to a different location like the error says?  Just wondering if there is some odd permissions thing going on. Looks like your OS is Windows?

I can confirm this on my systems as well.  I have installed it on two different Windows 10 systems and attempted to export from the browse view.  It does not give me a pop-up error, but the log file shows a failure to export the file.  There seems to be no way to roll back the version either so I currently have a useless photo editor and several projects to get done  Here is an excerpt of the log:

This needs to go to support. Use the Submit a request link below and include the information requested in this article: https://on1help.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360018405111-How-to-submit-a-problem-to-ON1-Tech-Support-A-Step-by-step-Guide. They will be able to interpret the log file and tell you what's going on.

It would be interesting to know what they say is the cause & solution.

I'm in the same boat. My business depends on a reliable editor and the ability to export my raw files into jpegs. How does a release come out that this function is not well tested?

All of you people should be sending in a support request for this problem.

  • Graham Buffinton

Support is working on the problem don't send reports in this will only take them away from fixing the problem

I have found if you use the version be fore the upgrade it is ok

Everyone needs to send in data to help isolate the problem. That's an On1 request.

  • Graham Buffinton

Don't  send any thing it takes the time away from the problem and stop telling people  to do so

Graham, you realize that Rick has direct connections to the company, right? If he says the company has requested the information then everyone having the problem should do so.

  • Graham Buffinton

he has not said  the company has requested the information and y wouldn't the company request it themself I have been in touch with Steve over the problem she has not mentioned it

Just a thought - I am not have any of the issues reported in this and another thread.

I installed 2020.1 on Win 10 from a downloaded install executable not from the upgrade inside the On1 app.

When I installed I ran the executable as administrator and during the install there was a pop-up asking if I wanted to install for all users or just one account ( don't remember exact wording ) but I selected all users.

I'm still betting there is some odd permission thing going on as a result of some recent Win 10 updates.

David, I agree. I also always install as admin (Win 10) and I think (but I'm not sure) that I installed for all users. I don't have any of these save or error 126 problems either.

If anyone who does have these problems can verify how they did their install, it might help pin down the problem.

I have Windows 10. New install as admin and for all users - the same problem.

Ok then. Really strange how some have the problem and others don't. I wonder what the key is.

    0
  • David Kick

    Yeah it is strange.

I was just reading an article that Windows defender is throwing an error for some users that says "The Windows Defender Antivirus scan skipped an item due to an exclusion or network scanning settings" . I use Windows defender and am not seeing this issue either.

I might be wrong but I can't help but think the whole thing is a Windows issue and not On1.

Have any Mac users reported a similar issue?

  • Rick Sammartino Community moderator

That's a good question. I just popped over to the Mac forum and don't see any posts specifically about this, but there could still be Mac posts in other forums.

  • Brian Lawson Community moderator

I haven't heard of any Mac users having problems like this. If someone having the problem cold roll back their last Windows update and see if the problem goes away it might help identify it the problem is related to that last Windows update.

The problem occured after updating the program. At the time Windows has not update. I closed the program and asked for updates a few minutes after restarting.

can you send a link to me?

It's not even showing thumbnails in brows any more

Brian, you are not talking to the company on these forums, just other users like yourself. You'll have to send a support request and ask them for a download link for the previous version. You should also report all this to them. Use the Submit a request link at the bottom of this page and include the information requested here: https://on1help.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360018405111-How-to-submit-a-problem-to-ON1-Tech-Support-A-Step-by-step-Guide
