Vinny, I am having a similar experience, doesn't load, wont export, losing edits when I go back to browse - created a pano which disappeared. Log file is full of 126 events and others. I don't believe it is installing correctly. I am in touch with Tech Support and the latest suggestion was to clear or move the cache.

Edit: I have had numerous fresh install which have had no effect.

    W10 laptop i7 CPU and Geforce 960M 2Gb

Update: I managed a re-install following a run of ON1 uninstall script and noticed it does not remove everything, so I did a painstaking search in Explorer and deleted any On1 files on my C drive (data is stored on a separate drive).Did a clean of drive and registry with Ccleaner I downloaded the app from a link Rick provided in one of his posts (can't locate it now, but was recent) and installed as admin. First disabled network and antivirus. On1 is working well, but the log file shows:

    2020-03-21 15:52:17 ON1 - Event (1005) on line 949 of onimagecache.qt.cpp

This repeats hundreds of times (have asked Tech support what it could be)

My previous install was via the update through the program which seemed to have caused all the issues.

I had this problem while On1 was re-cataloging. That took a full 24 hours, but now that it's done everything is fine.

On my most recent re-install I did not create any catalogs, been wary of catalogs since they were screwing up 2019. My 2020.1 is completely unusable, so I'm now editing with a free copy of Luminar 3. I don't want to re-install 2020or 2020.1 until Tech Support come back with something that works as I don't want to wipe anything that could help find a solution.

Paul, that was the same info they gave me. I am in the process now in cataloging the photos, will clear the cache when it's done.

Rick, I guess I'll see once it is done cataloging. It did say 100% before totally wiping 2020.1 off the computer.

I did clear the cache, moved it to another internal drive which is a spinning HD vs SSD and had it catalog my photos. It actually got worse and I assume some of the problem now is because it was off the SSD. I was actually up to 2 minutes with no previews showing up and shut 2020.1 down, restarted and at 2 minutes and 16 seconds (or a total of 4 minutes and 16 seconds if you include the first time) previews were still being updated. I did answer tech support with my findings so we'll have to see what they say.  Long way from times I was getting with 2020.0 .. 12-18 seconds total to open RAW and a photo.

I've also has sporadic problems ... an extremely noticeable delay when loading 2 dis-similar file types in the compare mode. I honestly don't believe in my case it's a cataloging issue. I've not yet submitted a support ticket as I've only noticed issues when I was in a hurry with a project. I'll time start up, which is pretty slow, and the compare issue before I submit a ticket.

    Peter,

Quite a while ago you had said how a newer machine could make a difference but I was broke and stubborn (Or maybe the other way around :-) ) and "wanted " RAW to work properly on my machine. Unfortunately the truth is - yes, your were correct and it is time to retire my old machine for photo editing! I bought one which had almost everything I wanted for way less money then I could have built one ... my wife was NOT too happy about me spending money on a new computer!!!!

Anyway, 2020.0 was/is fast on it but was having issues with masking and tech support said it was a known problem and would be corrected in this update. It seems to have been corrected but the loading of the program and the loading of a photo from a 24 Mpix camera is IMO painfully slow. It could be a WIN 10 vs MAC thing or it could be as it has in the past that individuals have issues while others do not.

Some other things I have noticed with this update are - it uses a lot more CPU resources then 2020.0; cataloging the same amount of photos was way slower then the previous version and I'm not 100% sure but I think it isn't using the GPU the way 2020.0 does. Last night I was just playing around and really not doing much and it was really getting the CPU involved a lot (I heard the fans whirring) which I don't remember hearing in 2020.0; this was after the CPU cataloged my photos to 100%.

I'm hoping that if enough people write tickets to tech support that they'll devote more resources to find the problem and fix this. I accepted slow speeds on my old computer but as others in the past have said - a new computer with pretty good specs should not be so slow.

One last update. I totally wiped out 2020.1, ran CCleaner to get rid of any traces and reinstalled 2020.1. I did not have it catalog folders - opens really slow and opens photos slow. Along with the other issues I am probably going to revert back to 2020.0. I hope they come out with a solution soon!

2 aspects that helped my situation regarding response times. 1) I optimized the 2 SSD drives and defragged the 2 HDD drives on my system & 2) doubled checked the GPU settings after a Nvidia upgrade and reset it.  Much smoother operation now

I am having similar issues. It is to the point that i thinking of switching to a new editor. Spent over 1 of my 2 hours set aside for editing doing nothing but trouble shooting and reinstalling. No improvements what so ever. It is taking me 5 sec to zoom in and out of a catalogued file that is only 27mb in size and trying to paint out small details of a mask is like pulling teeth!!

    I have the latest drivers, I use a I7 with 32 gb's ram and a RTX 2070.

John, contact support. They were able to get my system running well. It took a couple steps but we worked together and I am happy with the results.
