Is the preview in Accurate or Fast mode?

How does it look in edit if you set the Camera Profile to Linear Raw?

I don't shoot Nikon so not familiar with .nef files. What I do see unusual is the even though you D610 is a tier 1 camera you do not seem to have the dropdown to choose a different camera profile nor do you have the AI Match option. If you are using latest version of 2020 Raw I would expect to see both of those with a tier 1 camera. I noticed this because my response to your question would have been try selecting a different camera profile.  Is it just this image you are having issues with? Can you select different camera profiles with other images?

That's a great catch David.  I had not noticed that.  When I look at raws shot on my Sony RX100m3, it shows choices in camera profiles.  But not so with raw images from my Nikon D610.  Is there a setting I need to change to have On1 recognize these images.

There is no setting for this. I would suggest you attach the above screenshot to a support request and send it to On1. It's probably an incompatibility in the spelling of the camera name and they'll have to fix that.

I just did this, and received the following fast reply from On1:

For this I must inform you that the camera profile option there is for Tone and Color purposes only.
For camera profile and lens correction you will be able to see your camera listed in the Lens Correction profiles.

I replied to his answer asking why I'm able to chose different Tone and Color profiles when editing my Sony raw files.

Wonder if I need to escalate, since as Rick suggests, this is not normal.

    Just got this answer back:

Yes, there are certain cameras from different manufacturers, regardless of tier that do not make any specific color profiles for their images which is why there is not an option to select.

Surprising, although if I'm correct in my thinking.. these profiles just serve as a starting point, and can be replicated by moving the sliders below the profile choices.  So I guess not the end of the world, but surprised not supplied by Nikon on such a popular camera.

I don't know if it is related or relevant, but with my Canon camera, it turned out that sRAW and mRAW formats where treated as tier 2 (no camera profiles), and only the full RAW format as tier 1 (with camera profiles), even though they are all stored in a .CR2 file.

I figured out the issue.  I just discovered that I've been shooting RAW photos at a bit depth of 12 bits.  When I discovered the setting and option to change to RAW 14 bit, I shot and compared in On1.  The 14 bit photos allow me to chose camera profiles.  The 12 bit photos do not (option greyed out).   Don't know why I had 12 bit selected, other than a slightly reduced size of file.  Not worth the space savings of course, so I've switched to 14 bit.

And now we know... the rest of the story!

    Thanks for everyone's help!
