Detecting keywords not written to originals
Despite what it says in the manual, I am pleased to see than ON1 2020.1 will write keywords back into my DNG files when I use Photo > Embed Metadata. However, it seems there is no way to find photos that are out of sync in this respect.
Coming from Lightroom Classic, I am used to being able to filter on "Metadata not written to file." Is there a way to do this in ON1 2020.1?

Unfortunately ON1's searching capabilities do not include the NOT operator. This means you have to find things like that through the process of elimination. Create an album of all the images you want to search through then search that album for those images that have metadata changes and remove them from the album. What's left are those images without the changes.
I believe Rick has a method whereby he tags everything immediately with an "untagged" keyword which he removes as he does his keywording. Then he can search for "untagged" to find the images he needs to finish with.

That's correct, my import preset automatically adds the keyword 'notag' to everything.

I'm not looking for images to which no keywords have been added, I want to find photos that have keywords assigned in ON1 that differ from those keywords present in the file itself, that therefore require me to execute Photo > Embed Metadata to sync these up.
My situation is this: I have over 10 years' worth of photos in DNG format and the vast majority of those already have tags embedded in the files. If I revisit some of those files in ON1 and add new keywords, these new keywords are not stored in the DNG files until I execute Photo > Embed Metadata. If I've got my wits about me I will update it as I go. But I know I will forget sometimes. In Lightroom, I can very simply search by "Metadata not written to file" and then do the embed.

Unfortunately that isn't possible as far as I know. If you've cataloged your entire library you can select its root folder, turn on Show Sub-Folder Contents, do a Select All, then Embed Metadata. That will cover everything.

I considered that, but wouldn't that write the files regardless of whether they needed it? In theory it would be fine, but it would obfuscate which files have actually recently changed and add an enormous load to my cloud backup service unnecessarily.
Unfortunately (for me) it seems like Lightroom continues to rule the roost when it comes to keyword management. ON1 is the only tool I've tried which comes close, and it's very close.
