Printing with Signature

Donald, If you don't want to use a watermark for a signature the other option is to add a text box to the photo. Example below.

Maybe that is what you are doing when you say "I can Export a file with a Signature"

Just a comment re Canon Print Studio Pro. It does work with Canon's Digital Photo Professional software. You must have a Canon Camera to download that though.

Just thought of another option for a signature. You could create a signature file ( transparent background with Signature. Then add that as a layer to a photo.

Hi David: Thanks. Once I worked out how to do a signature png with a transparent background, I used Affinity, I quite liked the ON1 Export, it does what I want simply. It is strange that the same ability isn't included when printing, seems a bit obvious! Why would we want to stick a big Copyright symbol on our 'fine art.' I take your point about adding a layer or using a text box. I will play and see if I can get one to work. With Export, after setting it up it is automatic but these other ways add more work.

I do have a Canon camera lying about somewhere! I use Olympus and will see if the software can be conned into working.

    Thanks

    Donald

Donald, Actually I think there is a way to add a watermark of your choosing during printing. Obviously there are currently 3 choices there that are rather ugly. I'll do a little looking to see how to add one to those choices.

OK I just tested and was able to add my Signature in the watermark pane in the print module. Just stick your PNG or JPG signature in a folder somewhere. In the print module select one of the three watermark styles that are there then select "Choose" in the Print Watermark pane and navigate to your signature file and select it. Size and position as you see fit. Then for future use select Save New Style  in the "Style" dropdown ( second image ) and give it a name. Badaboom Badabing you are done.

As far as I can tell, the Print Watermark works just the same as the Export one.

If you only ever use one watermark, you don't need to save the style, the watermark you set will stay between sessions. It's only if you have more than one, the style makes it easier to set than searching for it every time.

Thanks for pointing that out Rick. I don't use watermarks or signatures but it was fun figuring out how they work in the Print Module.

Thanks guys. I will give this a try.It works, it works!

And I just found out how to add paper profiles.

So things are looking better, now to try some prints.

    Thanks for your help.

If you want to save paper and ink while testing, print to a file until you're confident everything works as expected.
