Opinions of Photo RAW 2020.1.1 (14.1.1.8943)
Looking for some opinions on the latest release of PR 2020.1.1 (14.1.1.8943)
Trying to gauge if people are happier with 8739 or 8943. So far I feel 8739 is the best performing and most stable release yet and I'm happy with it. With ON1's track record of releases, I am really hesitant to update to 8943 because I'm afraid of the potential for new issues that could make the software a headache again.
So what do you all think of the latest update... safe or not?
Thanks,

There is no answer to your question, with every version there are those with no problems at all while others are having difficulty. For myself on my 10yo PC, I have only minor bugs that don't affect my work. There is no way to know what your experience will be.
If you have a copy of your current version, you can upgrade and if you're not happy, then downgrade again.
If you don't have that, then you'll need to decide for yourself.

For what it is worth given Rick's valid observations, my experience of version 8739 was the same as yours in terms of performance and stability. I upgraded to 8943 and found further improvements. Yes, there are a few very minor bugs, but these are outweighed by the better performance.
To put this into some context, prior to the upgrade to 8739, I found myself constantly tinkering with the system preferences to try and get the best performance and brush response, but was never successful. Since the upgrades, I have not changed these preferences once. Say it quietly, but everything is working well....!!
I am running Windows 10.

To be clear, I'm not looking for an answer, I know there is no guarantee for my PC just because someone else has no issues. I'm just looking for opinions, it is better to make an informed decision than a blind one.

I keep all my installers so I can always return to a previous version if an update isn't usable for me.
I also run multiple versions side-by-side for various purposes. I edit the name of the ON1 Photo RAW 2020 program folder and the program name itself, usually with the release number. Then I download the installer for the update and run it. It will create a brand new ON1 Photo RAW 2020 program folder leaving the renamed version in place. I do not use the option to remove previous versions. Now I can launch either version for comparison or to easily remove the update if things go really wrong.

With the exception of losing the ability to manage presets, I'm pleased with 8943. Very stable on my Windows 10 platform ( i7 8700K processor, 32GB ram, RTX 2060 6GB GPU).
Brian, I like that method!
