Scroll Bars
Hello: When I'm editing I can have the filmstrip under the big window. Very useful if I have a many shots in sequence and I look for the best one. But the scroll bar is under the film strip. As a result it is hard to grab for the Taskbar pops up. If the Scroll Bar was above the filmstrip it would be easier. Also, all the scroll bars are very narrow and hard to grab.I haven't seen a way to modify the arrangement, is there one?
Thanks
Donald

No, there is no way to modify the program's layout.

Donald, Other options -
Turn off Automatically Hide Taskbar
Or move the taskbar to the sides or top.

Hello: Thanks for replies. I don't really want to turn off the auto hide Taskbar just for one program. I suppose I should make a suggestion to the powers that be. It probably has been suggested for teh current Scroll bars strike me as being too narrow to grab.

Scrollbar width is a common complaint. They were made bigger a couple of releases ago. FWIW. :)

If you hover your mouse over the filmstrip you can use the mouse wheel to scroll. You could also use the left/Right keys, but I know you weren't asking about that.

Good grief, it must have been appalling to use them for it is bad enough now. Trouble is, this is only one complaint about the program since I chose it as my replacement for Lightroom. Still working on how to get Edit filters to appear every time I edit. Every time I have to click on Add Filters. That is, 'Effects' 'Add Filter'. Be nice if I could get the ones I use to automatically appear. I think there is but haven't achieved it yet!
Thanks

Thanks Rick, I hadn't noticed that you could use the Scroll Wheel, it works well, as do the left right keys. It's funny how you get into a mindset and don't try these things. I just automatically reached for the mouse.

What you're referring to is called a Preset. Just open a photo and add all of the filters that you like to the list. Put them in the order that you like and you can set them up to your preferences too, then go down each one and turn it off.
Once you've done that, click the preset Icon and save it.
After that it's just a matter of applying the preset. You can even do that to all photos at once in Browse of you want to.

Hi Donald,
Another idea that my help you...
If you are using a Windows 10 (and maybe older versions) PC with a touchpad, this can be configured in Settings so that "swiping" left and right with TWO fingers will result in horizontal scrolling. This works for the filmstrip. You just have to place the cursor anywhere in the filmstrip area to activate the scrollbar.

Thanks again. I now see that I can set up the filters and group them as a preset. We are making progress!

Those slider bars are way too narrow. Period. Lots and lots of people use a Wacom tablet. Obviously no scroll wheel here. Try to grab the scroll bar with a pen. This is pathetic.
There is no reason whatsoever this could not be set in the preferences.
Cheers.

Believe it or not, they were made wider a few releases ago. They are much better than they used to be. I use a Wacom tablet without any problems on my Mac. It just takes a little getting used to and that comes with practice.
