I'm not seeing this happen. Can you give us a step by step set of instructions on how to duplicate it?

I've edited a few images since installing 2020.5. I haven't noticed anything unusual when cropping.

When you say 're-edit' do you mean during the same session or after exiting and re-opening in Edit? All of these details matter.

OK--once my 750 pics finish exporting (and I get my kids to bed), I'll take another look.  Thanks for the quick replies!

I imagine exporting 750 pics is using a lot of CPU. Could be that is what's causing problems while editing. Maybe you just happened to be cropping while the CPU was busy.

No, there is no interference by the export, as I started that after the cropping.

I started in browse mode.  I hit d to enter Edit mode.  I hit c to enter crop mode.  I adjusted the rotation slightly.  I cropped the photo at 5x7. I exited crop mode by applying the crop.  I think entered crop mode again using c, and it had lost my crop.

And then I tried to 'reset all settings' to start fresh, and the program crashed.

Looks like pics are in reverse order....

If you're able to recreate the problem consistently, you should submit a support request and attach some of these examples. A step by step guide (or even a video) would be helpful for support to recreate it.

I'm not able to replicate this, it's pretty weird. I usually crop to 4x5 or 9x16 so I tried the 5x7 and it worked too.

I second Rick's suggestion to contact support. You've already got a pretty good step by step here so include the link to this thread.

Just wanted to let you know I saw this problem today. I set a crop and when I went back to adjust it, it snapped back to a reset size. It didn't do that before this release.

I'll have to keep an eye out for it. Thanks, Rick.

It was while in Layers, that might make a difference. I had no problem with flat files.

That would not surprise me. I've seen various issues related to cropping Layered images. It affect copy/paste of masks. At least it has in the past. I haven't checked to see if it has been fixed.

When I work with Layered files I always wait until the end to do any cropping.

I had the cropping issue (on1 forgets what the initial crop was, so when you go back to edit you are starting as if you never cropped the image ever) but I was not doing anything with layers.  Cropping was about the only thing I had done other than using the camera profile and AI Auto.

Just an update that I've reproduced the crop issue as well.

I'm having the same problem.  First thing I did to a newly loaded image was crop.  Then I removed a couple of difficult spots and got it just right.  Noticed the buildings weren't level so went back into crop to adjust and the crop disappeared.  Had to start over.  Tried a few times.  Even reloaded the update and it is still happening.

I'm also having problems with cropping.

After reopening an edited / cropped photo, I apply some other adjustments, return to crop to modify it, and voila! crop resetted to original.

    Definely a new bug. Annoying

I just received a message from Stevie in support saying they are aware of the lost crops and are working on a bug fix to be released soon.

Thanks for the responsive action Brian.  Looking forward to the bug fix.

I am running on MacOSCatalina v. 10.15.5 and had no issues with cropping until I updated to ON1 2020.5.  Now, when I return to tweak a previously cropped photo, I also find no retention of my original crop.  My crops are lost consistently, not occasionally. Lost crops are extremely annoying and I am looking forward to a rapid bug fix.

I also have an issue with no visible folders in my left panel browser.  I lost this browser location after the previous ON1 update, but hoped it would be resolved when I updated to 2020.5, but no dice.  Yes, I set my permissions correctly during the recent program installation.  In fact, I am able to access the alternate browser location via the camera icon which gives me a thumbnail view of every folder with photos.  While this access works, it is slower and less convenient for me than the usual folder tree.  Has the left panel browser been removed intentionally, or is this another software bug to be fixed?

Robert, not sure exactly what you're referring to, so, taking a guess...  make sure your default browser location is set properly in preferences.

If that's not what you meant, post a screenshot showing the area that's not working.

As you can see, no folders appear under Local Drives on my Browse screen.  However, I can access folders on my hard drive either by using [+] on the upper left of this screen to view my Finder or by selecting the Camera icon ("Default Browse Location") on the upper left panel to visualize thumbnails of all local folders.  How can I resurrect my previous list of all photo folders on the left panel of this screen?

P.S. My Default Browse Location is set correctly under ON1 Preferences.

You'll need to contact On1 Support about this.

    https://on1help.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

Attach your screenshot above and also a screenshot of your PC outside of On1 showing what is supposed to be there.

Also, include the info requested in this article...

If you are running Catalina try holding down the Shift key while the program is starting up. You'll see a dialog asking if you want to delete the program's settings. Click the button for macOS 10.15 Upgrade.

I'm seeing the cropping issue, I reported this to support

When cropping an image during edit to a certain freeform size, if I go back and want to adjust the crop, when I click on the crop button it removes the original crop and goes back to the full sized image, in previous versions the original crop was still there and I could adjust it, it shouldn't remove the crop if I want to readjust it.

I reporting the cropping problem about a week ago (cropping not "sticking").  It is a known problem.  Via email exchange, I got a dropbox link to roll back to the previous version as to me this is a killer bug (e.g., the upgrade really should be removed for now until fixed).

I'm been having the same issue with cropping a picture and then wanting to crop it some more but the software takes me back to the original size of the photo. I know this was discussed 4 months and was hoping there was a fix for this problem.

I'm not having any trouble with it in the latest version, 2020.5.1 build 9231.
