Edit Tools In ON1 Mobile
Have just downloaded the new update with ON1 360 and am kind of feeling a little flat about the editing tools in the mobile app.
Not much incentive to use them compared to other apps like Snapseed that offer so much more.
Am hoping in future updates they can add more editing features otherwise i dont see the point in using really.

You're lucky the edit tools work for you at all. When I try to use them (if it hasn't blanked the image preview so there is nothing at all to see) then there is no change on the phone. The edits do sync back to the PC version, but if I wanted to see the edits on the PC then I'd do them on the PC!

Every time I try to use the edit tools I get a blanked preview image (with jpg and raw files). I have logged this with support as we have been encouraged to do...

Ditto! I was looking forward to this app for my Samsung phone. However, so far it falls way short of what's offered by my built in Samsung photo app. :(

Just my opinion but I'm really convinced On1 did not intend for the mobile app to be a full blown editor like people seem to expect. I would agree the mobile app is not really worthwhile if you are not a 360 subscriber. At least the mobile app is free. I think the whole intent of the mobile app is first meant to be a key part of the 360 infrastructure and be an easy way to get images taken on your mobile device to your main editing platform be it desktop or laptop. Then secondly a way to display fully edited images from your main editing platforms on your mobile device . If you really think about it who wants to do detailed editing on their phone? I know I don't, so for me the ability to cull, rate and do basic adjustments on my phone or small tablet is just fine.

Some of their preview videos have been focussing on the editing aspects of the mobile app, so they certainly wanted to use that capability to sell the mobile/360 package.
For me the mobile app needs to do 3 things:
1. Take raw images
2. Cull and make basic edits on those images (crop, AI exposure, etc.)
3. Sync the images and edits to my PCAt the moment it can only import raw images and sync them to my PC, so that is none of those 3 things properly achieved.
If they can'tfix it soon then it'll be refunds on the 360 subscriptions, as it's currently useless.

David, are you kidding?? Who wants to view high quality images on a phone? Who wants to develop images made on a phone? They are only good enough for posting them on WhatsApp - no RAW development needed at all. A serious photographer edits RAW files from cameras, not from phones, either on a desktop computer/Mac or on an iPad/tablet. On1 did never aim at the „mobile phone photographers“. Because they are no photographers.

Jens, I'm not sure I understand your response fully but no I'm not kidding. Do you really want to do detailed masking of filters and effects on a phone? I don't. That's why the basic edits I can do on a photo taken from my phone in the mobile app is sufficient for me. I can do more extensive edits on my desktop. And I didn't say people that take pictures on their phone are not photographers and if you feel that way I think you are wrong. Some very talented photographers happen to take pictures with their phones from time to time because that happens to be the device they have at the moment the photo is taken.

Movies have been filmed on iPhones.

Brian, I don’t know any serious photographer who takes his pictures with a phone. This discussion becomes now a bit useless.
David: That’s exactly what I am saying. Nobody will seriously develop pictures on a phone. But also not pictures TAKEN with a phone. The mobile version should be used on tablets and iPads, not on phones.

I don't know any presidents either but I know they exist. ;) You have your opinion and that's fine.

Jens, as David says, sometimes a phone will be the best and only camera a photographer has with them.

Well I should add my thoughts to these comments. 😊 I was looking forward to using ON1 360 with editing tools on my IPAD only.
if I take photos they are always with my Fuji XT2. I want to then upload them to ON1360 from my desktop or to the iPad and have the ability to sit in lounge or wherever I am ( especially if we are travelling) and enjoy viewing and editing and sharing my raw images without the need of my Mac desktop all the time.
So the concept of ON1 360 is great , I just thought that there would be more advanced editing tools to go with it . Looks like I will have to use snap seed or something similar which gives me greater flexibility.
hopefully they will improve in this area and yes the videos leading up to the release showed the editing side of things but why bother. They are just very basic editing tools that any photo app has.
