Great idea / Terrible execution
I just got this app and so far it is littered with bugs. From sluggish performance, to photos showing up as all black images in browse, to photos showing up in browse with only the face blackened out if I've previously used portrait editing mode on them, to pictures not automatically rotating to view in their proper orientation in the browser, to occasional large pixelated black and/or white boxes in the preview image in Browse. I assumed that maybe updating to 2020.5 would fix some of the issues however no, they still persisted and I started to experience hangups and crashes after the update. No other programs on my PC exhibit these type of problem behaviors.
So I performed a complete deep uninstall using Revo Uninstaller Pro and reinstalled v2020.1. Some issues seem to have been resolved but now that I am attempting to upgrade to 2020.5 again from within the program it will not complete the process. For 2 days in a row the download/install would hang at anywhere between 58% - 86% complete. However since last night I am getting an error stating "Could not connect to download server. Please try again later."
I am not enjoying this On1 2020 experience at all.

Are you using the built-in update feature in the program or trying to download the installer from the ON1 web site? I recommend doing the direct download. If there are internet connection problems the download can be continued instead of having to start it from the beginning each time it fails. You can sign into your account and get it from there or just download the demo from the front page of the site. The installed program is exactly the same.

Finally got the program to successfully download and re-install 2020.5 today. So hopefully I'll have a better experience this time around. We shall see.

Be sure you configure your system for ON1's performance demands. The program is very GPU demanding so you need to set up Windows to handle it. There are instructions at https://on1help.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/115000551608--OpenGL-3-3-and-Later-is-Required-How-to-Update-Video-Card-Driver-Windows-Only-Photo-RAW.
