Cataloged folders do not appear after starting up
My problem started after the the latest update. Sometimes my cataloged folders simply do not appear after starting up PR. I have to shut off the program and start up again. Some days it seems to be ok and then another day they are not there. Anyone know what is happening? I'm using a PC with Windows 10.

When I switch between the current version and a previous version then come back to the current version I don't see my main Pictures catalog either. It is still there though. I just tell the program to catalog that folder again and it is immediately available. The catalog does not get rebuilt, it just show up as if it had always been there.
This probably sounds like an obvious thing to check but when this happens is the program showing you the My Catalogs column or the Browse column?

Thanks Brian for your quick reply. I do not, as far as I know, switch between curremt and previous versions. I simply start from the ON1 short cut at my desktop. When the program starts, it is showing My Catalogs (I use them all the time at the moment). I do not think that your suggestion about telling the program to start up the catalog again will help me because I have not only one but many catalogs. As I wrote, a second start will give me the catalogs back but I am always afraid that I have lost them.

I wasn't trying to imply that was the cause, only that I've seen it happen under those circumstances.
Give it a try. You'll know if it recovers the original catalog or not by whether it starts the cataloging process all over again or if the catalog simply reappears as it does for me. If starts rebuilding the catalog again just cancel it.
Are the cataloged folders on an external drive? Is the drive letter changing when this happens? In other words, if you created a catalog for a folder on drive Z: and that drive gets assigned a new letter by Windows then the ON1 program will not be able to find it.

I'll give it a try with one small catalog next time. If it starts the cataloging process all over again it will at least not be a catastrophe.
I do not use external drives and I'm quite sure that the drive letters do not change. The strange thing is that it is not always like this and I suppose that makes it even more difficult to find out what is happening. I am grateful for your help.

You should contact technical support about this Fay. I'm out of ideas for possible causes except one, a corrupt settings file. Try resetting the program's preferences by holding down the Shift key while the program is starting up. You'll see a dialog with options for resetting both your personal preferences and the program's preferences. Try resetting yours first with the Delete Settings button and that doesn't help reset the program's settings. Both of these options will trash your catalogs and you will have to recreate them.
If that doesn't fix the problem support will have to take over. Use the Submit a request link below and include the information requested in this article: https://on1help.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360018405111-How-to-submit-a-problem-to-ON1-Tech-Support-A-Step-by-step-Guide

I'm not very happy with having to start all over again with my catalogs so if the problem persists I will sen a request to support.
Thanks again!

Have you tried simply restarting the program? When mine went missing a simple restart brought them back.

Hi Rick,
yes, it is exactly what I use to do, but I do not think it is meant to be like this. I had no problems with the previous version so something has happened since I installed the current version.

- I have noticed this too. Sometimes when I load the program the catalogues don’t appear, but on other occasions they do. Also when they don’t appear I note that if you load images from the drive all five of my Catalogues suddenly appear on the panel. This behaviour only started after the last update.

Fay, Ok, in that case, follow Brian's instructions above to contact support.
