That is something that should be addressed to tech support.

    I forgot about this.

When you installed the program there was an option to “Help improve ON1 products”. If you enabled that option the program will send usage data back to the company so they can analyze how it is being used and on what type of hardware. I think it is on by default.

You can control that option by going to the Help menu’s Help Improve ON1 Products command. You’ll see the following dialog where you have to option to turn it off.

I got a reply from ON1.  Yes it is PR 2020.5.1. pinging the 360 server.  But they are quite correct to say that it is only a tiny bit of bandwidth.  And, now they have looked at the issue, their reply said that the next version of PR won't ping the server, unless you have purchased a 360 subscription.

So we just have to wait and the problem, (if it is actually a problem), will be solved.

Also, I am glad to say that, even with all of the pinging, my copy of PR 2020.5.1 is running realy well.

    Best wishes, David Price

I don't use 360, but shutting down PR is a slow process. I think that this is because it is re-building the image cache. But, I might be wrong. I would imagine that trying to sync the cache to 360 will just add further delay.

I can't comment on the using 360 experience. But, the using Photo Raw without 360 experience is pretty good. At least it is with my set up. On my machine, PR 2020 is a stable, and relatively quick experience. There are some occasional wobbles. But, when I have checked via Task Manager, the underlying issue has not been ON1's code. The wobbles have been caused by other software. Such as Windows downloading yet another massive update, or the antivirus running one of it's in depth scans.

Let us be honest here, even the mighty Microsoft gets basic issues wrong on a worryingly frequent basis. Outlook keeps forgetting passwords. MS Edge keeps launching, without being asked to launch. Windows features updates take my laptop off line for long periods, then deliver new features which are often puzzling in their obscurity.

As I said, I can't comment on the 360 experience because I don't use it. But, when it comes to photo processing in Photo Raw, it seems to me that ON1 has paid closer attention to the basic issues, than does MS. I don't use 360, but shutting down PR is a slow process.
