Correct photos shot with wrong ISO.
I don't know if I'm in the right place here. If not: my apologies.
I have accidentally shot some photos (raw files) with ISO value 3200. and the photos are very grainy. Is there a way to correct this in On1 Photo Raw?
AFAIK your options are basically the same as with any editing SW. You can reduce the exposure if it's too bright, and you can apply noise reduction to help offset the noise from using a high ISO. This is probably not the answer you're looking for, but essentially the damage is already done. If you've shot in RAW then you'll likely have better results with this.
What Steve said. There is noise reduction in the Develop module's Details panel. There is also a Noise Reduction filter in the Effects panel.
If you are a Plus member there was some discussion on noise reduction in the Plus Forums. https://www.on1.com/plus/forums/topic/on1-noise-filter-best-practices-anyone/
Topaz DeNoise AI might be helpful too. It is talked about in the Plus discussion and you can download a 30 day trial to see how well it works.0
I made an even more stupid mistake last year and took some shots at 6400 ISO and above! Topaz DeNoise AI is the only software that I know of that can handle that and well worth the money. It's possibly on discount at present and you can get an additional coupon discount through various YouTubers.
Topaz also has brilliant and very active user forums that are frequented by the actual software engineers. When there are bugs, updates are often released within days and beta testers make a massive contribution. A lesson to the likes of On1 in customer service and support.
Original RAW file at 100%
After processing the RAW file in DeNoise, then in On1 (it also works as a plug-in, but it's always advised to remove noise at the start or close to the start of the editing process):0
I agree with everything said about topaz and denoise, but want to point out that topaz will be going to paid updates soon. I don't have a link for that at the moment. If I find one I'll post it.0
Here's a link
At least it's not a subscription model, and presumably a bit like what happens with On1. I have paid for Photo Raw 2020, but will have the freedom to decide if I want to upgrade to 2021 if and when it is released.
The last major update to Topaz DeNoise AI was 2.2 in May. There have since been 7 minor ones. All free so far!0
Thanks everyone. It's really appreciated.0
