Is there a way to crop to a precise size (ex. 20"x36") without pixel ratio calculations?

    Yvan,

while in crop select any size except freeform. You can then set 20X36 in whichever box you want.

Just click in the box first. The text changes to custom once you do this.

    Hi David,

There is no "custom" possibility in my PR2020.5 (I have the most recent version).

In the Freeform  selection, it is not possible to edit the W and H.

Are you on Win10 or Mac ?

Yvan, Custom isn't an option you can choose from the menu. It gets set once you've made a custom crop size.

To be able to enter your own dimensions you first have to select an option other than Freeform, any of them will do. It's only while in Freeform that you cannot enter your own dimensions.

Well, I have miissed something for the last few months !  It works perfectly as you said !

I find it a non-obvious way of doing. In my former raw processor, I selected "Custom" and then entered the values. Here one must first select values he doesn't want to change it after. Not good UI IMHO.

Thanks a lot Brian (and David). Your help is very appreciated.

Submit support requests to get this fixed. We should be able to enter those dimensions in Freeform as well as the other settings. Because there is a workaround it will probably be a low priority but I imagine the more complaints they get the higher its priority will become.

Yvan and Brian, just one more comment on this and this pertains to some of the issues with crop mode discussed in other threads and could potentially save Yvan a step if he hasn't discovered it already.

The crop setting is remembered from one editing session to anther in this case the last used mode was custom.

So the result is if your last crop was a custom crop or anything other than a Freeform crop you do not first have to select a crop dimension to enter your own values. All you have to do is click in the W & H boxes to enter the values you want.
