Clone Tool bug in Portait AI
AnsweredWhen option clicking when using the Clone Stamp tool in Portrait AI it selects two selection point instead of one and when I go to clone it picks the wrong one of the two points to fix the area I want fixed. Anyone else seeing this?

That's a new one. Restart the program with the Shift key held down so you can reset the program's settings. You'll see a dialog with various options, try deleting your settings first and if that does not fix the problem try again using the option to delete the program's settings.

I'm getting the same thing...
While I'm here... Page 6 of the guide says there should be Recent photos list. I don't see it at all.
and page 45 mentions a prevent overwrite option in Export, but I can't find that either.

I think that it is working in a different way from other cloning. Click or click and paint over the area you want to clone to then when you let go it automatically selects a clone from point, you can then select this and move it to place that you want to clone from.
If you want to erase a clone then drag it off the image.
I am sure this is in the user guide but I am in play first read later mode :-)

From what I see in the user guide, clone should work the same as it does in Photo raw. Alt does not allow you to set a source location and the 2 brushes is just weird.
One more thing, in the bottom right I had a progress bar that said "ON1 360 54 of 100 done", which would be fine except there is no access to 360 inside of Portrait that I see. Did I miss something?

Yeah I read the user guide and it’s supposed to work like it does in Photo Raw. I also notice that the icons on the lower right for export, share, print.... are all dimmed out although they work when you click on them. I reported the clone stamp issue to support

Given that retouching is changing in On1 2021 I wonder if Portrait AI includes the new tools and that they will operate in a different way from 2020. In which case it could be that the user guide is wrong and based on a cut and paste from On1 2020 user guide?
While the operation I am seeing is different from current practice in On1 and other applications it does actually make more sense - identify the area that needs to be changed and then find the best fit to make the change, and one click on destination that also makes an initial selection of source might speed things up.
See what support says to Ron's bug report.
I have noticed that feather does not seem to have any impact on the cloning, so that could be a bug. I will report it.

Got this from support they are working on a patch.
Hello,
After consulting with our QA team they have deemed this to be a bug in the software.
They have written up a report and sent it to our development team so that they can begin working on a patch or update to resolve this.
As soon as that patch or update is available we will let you know.
Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.
Regards,Cody | On1 Technical Support

Good, I did not waste time checking out this one :)
Anyway, I don't do portraits, so...

From the 2021 video it looks as though the bug is that the Clone Tool icon activates the new Spot Healing Brush, we will have to wait and see if all 4 of the new retouching tools are available in the standalone Portrait AI or if Clone will be fixed to activate Clone.
Probably only an issue for anyone running Portrait AI standalone rather than from the On1 2021 Portrait AI tab.
