ON1 Photo RAW 2020 will not launch
AnsweredUnable to launch ON1 Photo RAW 2020 or ON1 Portrait AI 2021
I have uninstalled and installed both applications and neither will launch.

We don't have much to work with here. What does happen when you try to launch either program? Have you looked through some of the recent threads others have posted about their problems getting the program to launch? You may find a solution there.

Hi Downloaded ON1 Portrait AI 2021 and installed worked fine. Rebooted PC and both RAW 2020 and AI stopped working and applications no longer launch. There is no splash screen or processes running. I have removed all On1 folders in %appdata%, %programdata% and program files and reinstalled with no luck. I have looked through the support files and can only see issues relating to older versions.

Do you get any kind of error message? Does the program crash? I need to know what happens beyond "it won't launch".
PhotoRaw 2020.05 does not start at all - support did not help yet

No errors for both. nothing in event viewer, mouse curser changers for a second or so when icons clicked but that is it. :-(

Could there have been an OS update that kicked in when the system was rebooted? Check your video card drivers and system's graphics performance settings, they could have been reset.
It's odd that there is no notice from the OS that the program is bailing during startup or why. Check that first link I provided. It has some information about a missing .dll file that was preventing Portrait AI from launching.
Here is a script for manually deleting the Photo RAW program. I need to update it for Portrait AI but you should be able to see what needs to be removed from the PR example.
- Uninstall via the Add/Remove Programs
- Remove the C:\Program Files\ON1\ON1 Photo RAW 2020 directory
- Remove the directories with "2020" in their names located in C:\ProgramData\ON1
- Remove the directories with "2020" in their names located in C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\ON1
- Remove this directory C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom\Modules\ON1 Photo RAW 2020.lrplugin
- Remove this directory C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom\Modules\ON1 Resize 2020-suite.lrplugin
- Remove the 2020 files in this directory C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom\External Editor Presets
- Remove the 2020 files in this directory C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\CC

checked this file ON1 Photo RAW Log and there is an error
BRViewLocation::setData() could not create the dictionary from the xml.
Would you know what xml it is referring to?

This is now resolved... it would seem I had to re-run Photo RAW 2020 as admin (just the once) for some unknown reason. :-( and both applications no work.

I don't know about the xml file, sorry. Glad you got things running though.

I am having the exact same problem. "Double-click" to open as normal and .... nothing. No error just nothing. Right-click > Open...nothing. No error. On PC with Win 10. Admit I am not the most computer literate so hate to start uninstalling but I may have to.

I'm having the exact same problem as Judy right now. I've reset settings and just reinstalled, but if we both have the same problem, then it probably not us. Could be something with checking the registration at On1 during boot.
... just checked my reinstall and it's still not working. Just crashes before opening Browse.

Logged OFF/ON ON1 and then reinstalled. It is now working for me.

I wonder if Microsoft's servers have been attacked again.

Could be. Judy, are you an On1 360 subscriber? Just wondering if that's what's making Photo Raw crash.
I can't log off, it doesn't come up long enough for that.

Rick - No I am not a ON1 360 subscriber nor have I downloaded the new Portrait AI.
I went directly out to ON1 site to logoff as I could not get it to come up either. Just a stab in the dark.

That's a great suggestion, but it didn't work for me. I reset all activations and even did a settings reset after that, but it still won't come up.

Kahlie just told me there aren't any problems on their end. I'm not having any trouble launching the program either.

I'm looking at the log file and I see entries like...
ONExploreLevelDB::open(D:/Roaming/ON1/ON1 Photo RAW 2020/CloudConnect.db): Corruption: error in middle of record
and then at the end...
2020-09-29 15:33:55 ON1* - QSslSocket: cannot resolve SSL_CTX_set_ciphersuites
2020-09-29 15:33:55 ON1* - QSslSocket: cannot resolve SSL_set_psk_use_session_callback
2020-09-29 15:33:57 ON1* - QSslSocket: cannot call unresolved function SSL_set_psk_use_session_callback
2020-09-29 15:33:57 ON1* - QSslSocket: cannot call unresolved function SSL_set_psk_use_session_callbackThen nothing.
I'm sending this to support.

I'm not having issues launching On1 2020 at this time.

I also have this in windows.

Finally got it going. I ran SFC and DISM and found no errors, so I reset Photo Raw and then it finally started.
Resetting dumps the catalogs and I don't want to wait another week for them to rebuild, so I set them to minimal this time and we'll see how that goes.

I am having a similar issue, OnOne Photo Raw 2020 I get the initial splash screen, then an empty window with the tag "not responding"
I have tried reinstalling but that didn't help. I read Rick Sammartino's entry that he "Reset" Photo Raw, how does one do that?
Thanks

Hold down the Shift key while the program is launching. You'll see a dialog with buttons for resetting various pieces of the program. The Delete Settings button resets your personal settings while the Reset ON1 Photo RAW 2020 button resets the entire program to a just installed state. This will remove any Catalogs and Albums you may have created so you'll need to rebuild them after.

Thank you Brian, I was able to reset everything and get OnOne to start, unfortunately the performance is exceptionally poor. I am running on a 4GHZ Intel I9 with 32GB memory. The OnOne banner is constantly giving me a "not Responding" message.
Open to any guidance!
Thank you

What are you doing when you get that not responding message? A screenshot showing the UI may be helpful.
