New ON1 version, new computer, and albums missing
I was previously running ON1 2019 on a MacBook Pro with Mojave. The MBP has been replaced with a MacBook Air M1 with Big Sur. The user data was transferred from the old Mac to the new one using a Time Machine backup during the initial set-up of the new Mac and seemed to go fine.
I installed ON1 2021 on the MacBook Air and it seems to run just fine. However, all of the albums which were created previously are missing. (The photos themselves came over just fine.).
What can I do so that ON1 2021 will find and use the album metadata from ON1 2019?
Thanks in advance for the help.

If the update did not migrate your Albums there is no way to recover them. You'll have to rebuild them manually.
If you can share the same Pictures folder between the two computers you could go back to 2019 and add Keywords to all the photos in your albums. I use one with the same name as the Album. Whenever I need to rebuild an Album I just do a search for that album's keyword name, Select All, and drag to the Albums Plus symbol to make a new Album. Back in 2021 on the new machine use that search and select process to rebuild your albums.

Thanks for your reply. I think that could work, but it seems rather labor-intensive, and I was hoping for a method of connecting ON1 2021 to the metadata which clearly still exists.
Any other ideas, anyone..?

That cannot be done. It should have migrated to the new version but the old one is incompatible as far as I know.

Hi David,
How is the M1 handling ON1 photoraw? Any issues so far?
I just sold my previous mac and I am waiting to order my new M1 mac.
Did you get the 8 or 16 Gb version? I tend to lean to 16Gb.

It runs just fine on the M1 under Rosetta II for now but a native version is in the works. I just got notice last night that my 16GB M1 shipped last night and will be here next week.

Jurgen,
Yes, it does seem to run just fine on the MacBook Air M1. I ordered the 16GB model because it seemed like the better long-term investment, though I suspect 8GB would be fine for some users.
