The program was changed a few releases ago to retain the Export settings. It was a feature a lot of users wanted. You can set up settings for your full frame & resolution then save it as a Preset at the bottom left of the Export panel. I’ve used this for a shortcut to exporting full size tiffs.

Thanks Brian. So just to confirm, are you saying that there is no method to run an export that automatically applies the original dimensions and resolution?

This whole area of dimensions and resolution is a bit of a mystery to me!!

You can also just turn off the size tab altogether. That will default to the original size and resolution.

I don’t use Quick Export or the Export command so I’m not sure how those respond when the previous export did some resizing and I can’t test it until my new system gets here later today, sorry.

No, that is my problem. When I turned off the size tab (or used Quick Export), the resolution sometimes changes.

That shouldn’t happen. You should report this to support.

OK, will do. I thought I was doing something wrong.

I have been able to resolve this issue myself. I contacted Support who mentioned metadata - that gave me the clue I needed.

I use Photomatix software for creating HDR files, which I then further edit in PR. I checked back on lots of my exported files, and the issue only occurred for the files that had been created in Photomatix. The issue is therefore not entirely the fault of PR.

In case any other PR users also use Photomatix and are having this problem (or maybe don't know it yet), I have found a work-around. If the HDR file is saved in Photomatix as a TIFF, when the TIFF is then exported out of PR, the original dimensions and resolution are retained. This doen not happen if a JPG is saved in Photomatix.

Thanks for the update Roger. I also use Photomatix but I’ve always saved as tiff so I never ran into the issue. Glad you were able to find the solution.
