Catalogs & album disappeared

After opening ON1 this morning all catalogued folders which are on my external HDD and the photos in my album (only that from the external HDD) disappeared - I worked with them yesterday in the evening without any probem.
Catalogued folders and photos on my internal SSD are still there - everything from the external HDD in the catalogs pane vanished overnight.
It looks like ON1 has lost the "connection" to catalogs and albums on the external HDD but shows it in the library pane.
Has anyone an idea how to recover that "connection"?
