The plug-ins are to allow C1 users to send their photos to ON1 modules. You can use ON1's Send To command to send your ON1 images to Capture One or any other program.

Thank you for your reply Brian, but I still don't get it.

In the video's, Dan Harlacher in Capture One goes into image -> edit in -> ON1 Effects

I don't see that option in Capture One, not even after reinstalling ON1 RAW. How do I add that?

Photo Raw and On1 Effects are two different programs. You need to wait for the next Photo Raw update for that compatibility.

I do agree with Peter Timmermans,

when I purchased on1 photo raw 2021 it was advertised that it will work as a plug-in in Capture one (to follow at a later date) same as in affinity photo, not with the edit in command. I do expect on1 to honor this in a future free update.

It's already been stated that it will be in the next update which should be coming along fairly soon.

It does matter to me, because I have capture one pro and would like to use it just for the basic adjustments and perhaps my library and then go into on1 and do the rest. I am still not shure whether to use on1 for my library or capture one. From an editing point of view I love on1

I have the exact same issue as Martin, use both ON1 and C1 and have been awaiting eagerly the announcement. I am therefore frustrated that after watching the announcement video from Dan, it does not seem to work as I would expect. I appreciate I may be doing something wrong, however the lack of information is frustrating.

Same here Rob. The announcement lacked clarity.

I use Capture One for raw development, and then I want to send some pictures to ON1 RAW for creative development.

But this announcement left me utterly confused. I thought it had arrived, but apparently it still has not...

Here is the official announcement page for the Capture One plug-ins. It clearly states they are for the individual modules — ON 1 HDR, Portrait AI, Resize, & Effects.

I do not disagree with you Brian, but I'm pretty tech savvy yet I am still confused. Adding something like "this feature will soon be brought to ON1 Capture Raw" might have answered my concerns....

We have always been able to use Edit with, this is just about individual plugins rather than ON One Photo RAW ...

And, as with the plugins, you can switch between modules as we have already been able to do.

Peter, On1 announced last December that this feature would be added to Photo Raw in a later update. It still will be, the only update we've had so far was to fix the new clone tool problem. As Brian says, it was mentioned that the Apps are up to date now. It's obvious that it isn't working in Photo Raw if you didn't download and install an update yet.

    Hi Don & Rick,

thank you for your replies. But I still don't see "edit with" -> "ON1 Photo Raw" in Capture One. I did check to see if I was running the latest version (I was) and I even redownloaded and reinstalled ON1 Photo Raw to make sure I didn't miss anything. Yet I still don't see "edit with" -> "ON1 Photo Raw" in Capture One.

Rick, it may be obvious to you however as a fully paid up owner and user of ON1 photo raw, I do not think it unreasonable that the update was available at the same time as the announcement or at least made obvious that it was still to come. I appreciate what Don has pointed out, however Dan’s announcement video talks about a more seamless operation than I can currently figure out. So I must agree with Peter’s latest post. I look forward to the update with anticipation.

    Thanks.

Peter, if the Capture One Edit With works like the one in On1, then you need to go to Browse the first time to add Photo Raw to the list. All of this should be in the Capture One user guide.

Peter, I have managed to at least get C1 to ‘edit with’ ON1. You first have to select a jpeg within FileMaker, then right click and use the ‘open with’ command and choose ON1 to open JPEG’s. this then creates the option within C1 to choose ON1.

I hope that helps, it does still feel clunky IMO hence eagerly awaiting the update from ON1 !

    Peter,

The link below will explain better than I did above.

From what I am seeing, they promised the plugins and gave the impression they would be a free upgrade or download.  But now they are wanting to charge the same price $99 for the bundle to use the plugins for Capture One.  They are for sale now on the website.  Bummed they decide to charge for the program again after just upgrading to 2021 version.

Once again, the plug-ins will be available for Photo RAW 2021 in a later update. PR 2021 owners will not have to purchase them.

Thank you so much for the clarification.  I guess it didnt register in my head while reading through the thread.  Appreciate the quick response.

Brian, You mentioned they would be available for free, but with the latest update 2-16-21 it is not there and I see other comments online that it will not be free and they have no intentions of adding it to PR2021  I dont get it.  I upgraded because they said it was coming.  If I knew then I would have to repurchase as a "Pro Bundle" for the same price I paid for the upgrade I should have just waited and bought the bundle.  Charging twice for something promised is not good and just a money grab.  I like On1 but this is ridiculous  and other products that do basically the same thing.

Kahlie just posted this a few minutes ago on another plug-ins thread:

    Here is an update:

In the future, we will give Photo RAW owners options to get plugin support in future versions. According to a recent survey, 85% of ON1 Photo RAW users do not use the plugins at all. We are considering offering different versions of ON1 Photo RAW, with and without plugin support.

This is the response from an email directly asking the question about a future update

    Hi Rob,

We will not be adding Capture One support in a future update. For anyone using ON1 Photo RAW 2021, we are happy to provide you with a free copy of the ON1 Professional Plugin bundle so that you can gain immediate access to these plugins.

    Regards,
